Same as against WBA?

Playing Chelsea 66 hours later - can players play both?

Gomes and RAN back?

Sa
Semedo Kilman Dawson Toti RAN
Doyle Lemina
Sarabia Cunha Neto

Subs Bentley Doc Bueno Bueno Hodge Gomes Bellegarde Chirewa Fraser

RAN for me against Antony. Gomes on for last 30 mins and starts vs Chelsea. Up top is the question - Sarabia if fit to start with Bellegarde coming on for me.

Don’t think Gomes should automatically get back in

Agreed, Doyle has been superb and has earned the right to start. That said, Gomes is highly effective in cm and is hard to leave out imo.
Bellegarde gave us very little today and if Sarabia is fit, he needs to - and I never thought I’d ever say that!

Big question is do we want Onana back from AFCON so we can give him the reception he deserves, or do we want their reserve keeper?

I think you rotate Gomes and Doyle between Man Utd and Chelsea.

Sa
Semedo
Kilman
Dawson
Toti
Ran
Lemina
Gomes
Neto
Cunha
Sarabia

Sub Doyle in around 65 min. Start him vs Chelsea and bring Gomes on later OR experiment with all three (and drop Sarabia).

I'd be bringing Gomes back in, nothing against Doyle who's done well but we saw in the first match of the season how ponderous Man U's midfield is and I think they'll struggle to cope with the energy and athleticism of Lemina and Gomes. Ait-Nouri in for Doherty and maybe Sarabia back in for Bellegarde if he's fit

Harsh to drop Doc, he’s played really well last 2 games , thought he was outstanding again yesterday, intelligent play to set up the first goal and don’t recall him losing a header

It is but I don’t think he can do what Ait-Nouri does.

Ran must come in I feel, doc will get minutes in the next 2 games anyways

Bellegarde comes out if sarabia is fit.

Id be tempted to play gomes lemina to boss united, and doyle for chelsea as he will get more time

A happy start to a new week.
Wolves success yesterday, England success in India, and "The Pitbull" back to further strengthen the squad.
Reasons to be cheerful :)

It all depends on a couple of fitness issues I think.

Doyle was clearly struggling with his towards the end yesterday and, if he's not 100%, no point risking him. If he is fully fit however he deserves to keep his spot.
If Sarabia has fully recovered he should maybe come in for JRB.

I'm not really a fan of Doc at LWB but he's done well last two games and would be harsh to drop him.

Hopefully, Saudi Arabia can beat South Korea tomorrow and we can have Hwang back for Chelsea

Totally agree with that.
I wouldn’t mind fancy playing Doc in the left wing position and Alt Nouri in front of him, leaving Neto on the right and Cunha in the middle?
But in GON we trust and I’m he will find the best solution

Not harsh if RAN is fit, he's quite simply the better player.
Again don’t disagree with that, but Doc is such an intelligent player
I would like to try playing Doc at left wing back with Alt Nouri in front of him with Neto on the right and Cunha in the middle
However in GON we trust and he will do what is best

Get Ait-Nouri back in. Doherty filled a hole but Ait-Nouri gives us more of a threat.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joao Gomes comes in for Lemina. I'm not saying he will or should, it just might freshen it up.

I agree. He needs to curb his 'enthusiasm' and calm down a bit. I think it's due to youth and inexperience but he is often a red card waiting to happen.

Give Doyle a rest, he's played a lot of minutes this month and I think it's starting to show. RAN in for Doc to provide more natural width. We definitely need another forward in before the deadline, with Sarabia out we're down to barebones until Hwang returns.

Think Gomes come straight back, 1) to freshen it up after a lot of games and 2) the extra legs around their slow midfield. Though Doyle has really put his hand up and shown we don't have a set first choice pairing now. RAN obviously comes back in as he's first choice and if fit Sarabia for Bellegarde.

I don’t think he’ll move Cunha from that inside left position, so if Sarabia come in for Bellegarde it probably means Neto down the middle which isn’t ideal.
I think Bellegarde keeps that false 9 role as it works better for Cunha and Neto.

I have been critical of Doc but in many ways agree this. My concern would be the pace ManUre have out wide.

Very, very harsh on Doyle I know but if you think back to how Lemina and Gomes absolutely abused their midfield in the away game I think we have to go with what we know works against them. Doyle is a great sub to have on if we need fresh legs or an extra body in there; he's no longer just a squad player he's a bona fide first team player now.

Also harsh on Doc and I wouldn't be against giving RAN a bit more of a break but I'm easy with whatever GON decides on the left.

We go into the game as slight favourites, tells you how far we have come this season. So to freshen things up.

Unsure of whether to go 5-3-2 or 5-2-3.

I think we go 5-2-3 on the basis we then have a spare midfielder on the bench. Although, the idea of having Gomes man mark fernandes is tempting.

Semedo kilman Dawson toti RAN

Lemina. Gomes

Sarabia. Cunha. Neto

Probably just shades it for me.

Could we have enough movement with a midfield three though? In reality the above probably does that with sarabia coming more centrally anyway. But could see an argument for

Semedo kilman Dawson toti RAN
Doyle Lemina. Gomes
Neto. Cunha

Excited in any event.

From going to a starting eleven that picks itself, with a somewhat weak bench, to having a luxury of riches in two positions.

We haven't even got Hwang back, yet.

That shows just how effective our coaching team is. Everybody is improving, whether a regular starter or not.

Decisions for midfield between Doyle and Gomes.

If Sarabia is fit it’s a no brainer that he starts.

RAN back in too.

Quietly confident for this game, I think we can win comfortably if we play well. I honestly think they are awful. 3 points please, and a draw at chelsea, a draw in each is ok too I guess.

Would bring in Gomes for this game probably for doyle (not that doyle done wrong). Necessary to rotate the midfield with 2 games in 3 days. Feel with Gomes fresh should play this one and this is the game we want to get after their midfield, press them, terrorise them and gomes the best player to do that. Think gomes for doyle only change for this one, then Ait Nouri back in for Chelsea.
man utd are there for the taking if we get after them.
