Yes, it would be good news if he goes and it appears with the 'Buy Out Clause' he will be - but only the most naive and foolish Wolves fan will think promotion is achieved because another team have sold one of their better players! It's still all about the players we have and the results they get.

Agreed - even if it does happen before Tuesday - will be a very very tough game and might not change too much in 1 game.

Should really help us in their next 17 games though, as he will be missed if he goes

He is the class player in there team.

his quality from Set Plays, and from open play makes him the player that makes Reading tick.

Replacing him with Jay Tabb, is like

Replacing Princess Di with Parker-Bowles
A Masseratti with a ford Escort.

It may not gurantee us promotion, but it gurantees less points needed.

Can't see this happening before Tuesday. He'll make his decision after Tuesday's result.

Normally if he has decided to move on he would not even play on Tuesday, for he may be injured and everything would go out of the window.

The buying club ala Wigan might not agree to this due to the possiblility of getting injured.

No it won't - it might but only if Reading finish below Blues. I still think Reading will finish above Blues so what matters to us will be how many points Blues get.

He was desperate to go to Sunderland last year but they wouldn't stump up 5mill. Wigan have a good side, it'd be an appealing move

This could well be done by Tuesday as there's no fee to be arranged. If Hunt and Wigan can come to an arrangement surely it's just medical and then job done?

Unfortunately i'm not convinced Hunt will sign for Wigan. Hope i'm wrong but i would have thought he was hoping for a slightly more high profile club.

I know they are doing well but he'll be playing for a club that attracts smaller attendances than Reading and have nearly as little footballing tradition and thats saying something!

Wigan ARE high profile, they're sneakily moving up the table. OK their better players like Palacois(sp for sure!), Zaki etc are being targeted or moving on, but they've still done very well this season. I don't think players care about history TBH, and if they did maybe even in a negative way. Let's say Wolves and Reading have exactly the same quality squads, points total, goal difference, manager, everything, the only way to choose between them was thier history... as a player I'd go for Reading, there'd be less pressure there to match the old greats.

:D Worst analogy ever.

I've heard from a Reading fan at work that Reading will sell him AFTER the Wolves match.

I don't think Hunt is THAT good in open play, all he seems to do is run around a lot and is a bit of a luxury - his set piece delivery however...

I can't recall Hunt getting the better of Foley at any point during the game. I could of course be wrong though.

Wigan are selling Heskey to Villa, does this mean they may go back to Reading for Doyle as well !!

Cant see Villa or Wigan buying Doyle now so it looks like he will stay.

Regardless of whether he plays on Tuesday, this is great news for us. He's by far their most important player and seems to have wanted to leave for ages. Fair played to him, it never appear to affect his commitment on the field.

Why have you posted 4 links about Hunt to back up a claim that Doyle might leave for Wigan or Villa? ;)

Doyle just will not go this transfer window FACT ;)

There is more chance of us selling Kightly and SEB than someone bidding the £8m+ Reading would want. He will go in the summer imo as signing Doyle for that amount of money is a big risk that no club would rush into at this stage of the season.
