Whitewash campaign in support of refs ?

Driving to Nottingham the other day switching through the channels and caught a bit on talk sport where they were saying refs are getting a bad press and it's not their fault.

Then the next day radio 5 have their people pushing the same story line.

It's not the refs it's VAR they said.

But they forgot to mention it's the same refs being recycled from at the match to being at Stockley Park.

Anyone else catch it ?

Ah, that old chestnut. Yes it’s all VAR’s fault.
Because the camera system itself is obviously incapable of spotting certain incidents.
We’ll gloss over the fact that it’s the same PGMOL refs behind the screens, that tend to back up the awful calls made by their comrades to save them any embarrassment.

Yep same as commentators saying "people moan about VAR but that's what it's there for" after it took 3 minutes to come to an obvious decision. Normally the lead commentator that does this, interrupting the ex-footballer normally talking sense about how **** it is

Only human. Although Bournemouth at home a while back should have been questioned . Also when Ned was thumped at Notlob.

I couldn't do that job.

But they’re not only human now. Yes the final decisions have to be made by humans, but they have the option of properly utilising multi-angle slow-mo replays to help them make those decisions....should they choose to and be willing to be proven initially wrong.

The latest one this morning was they are having to ref too many games..

Except it is the refs. They’re making **** decisions on the pitch and their mates are sticking up for them on VAR.
