I feel like a shrivelled Grinch, but would have to say no - I've not let anyone before when they've missed them, like SuziQ in the Cup this week, the predictions just stood as they were. It's not that you'd gain any advantage (you wouldn't), it's more that other players might then feel aggrieved that they've forgotten asterisks but haven't been allowed to add them afterwards in previous weeks.

Sorry, I know that's not in the spirit of fun. I'm the Ki-Jana Hoever of gamesmasters today.

Stee leads overnight with a hearty 30 points, mainly thanks to two doubled correct scores, but that uses all three asterisks so tomorrow will be a fight to hang on to that lead as the sharks (otherwise known as fellow players) circle hungrily. Oh When The Wolves and SGWolves are on 24 points, and NevesWolf and Wonder Boyo - smarting from his last minute one-point Cup defeat - are dangerous on 23. Can Stee hold on to that 6-point gap with seven games to come...?

Oh When The Wolves has been relatively quiet since being crowned joint winner of the Euros Prediction game this summer, and after a dismal week in the league last round, following an early exit from the Cup, he finally lost patience and sacked his manager. That decision has reaped dividends, as he posted his best week of the game so far by a country mile with 45 points, including four correct scores - three of them today! - and eleven out of fifteen results overall. Congratulations!

It was that kind of high-scoring week, as SG Wolves (39 points, and four correct scorelines, the only other player to do so), John De Wolf's Hairdryer and Stee (both 38 points) also recorded their best points totals so far, with Yeltzwolf and Don Corleone making up the rest of the top 6 on 38 and 36 respectively. SuziQ and Purplepault69 both missed their first weeks of competition - best wishes to both.
