We'll always have Leeds away - if Leon scores we're on the pitch!

I was wound up for years by Claridge always being introduced as "scored goals wherever he went".

Who was the full back we signed for about half a million, from brum, back in the early 90s. Name evades me.

Nope. Masters wasn't from Brum (Bournemouth l think). Think he meant Kevin Ashley. £500k was serious money for a club at our level at that time.

Thats him.

Was it Masters or Ashley who was always injured?

Stephen Elliot springs immediately to mind. Thought he was a really useful player before we signed him, and he was weak and useless as soon as we did. Then he came back for Preston the year we went up, and scored 2 goals for them.

Never played for us - But it genuinely infuriated me the vendetta Sean Scannell seemed to have whenever we played him. He went from a standard Championship winger into Neymar as soon as we faced him.

Even when we beat Huddersfield 4-1 at their place he was their best player by a mile.

David Davis probably had the only good 4 games of his career when he played for Blues against us.

Keith Andrews?
Dougie Freedman
Kevin Keen

I tell you who was always good against us and we should've signed after he ran us ragged for Bury, David Johnson. Ended up going to Forest and always seemed to be great against us.

I liked Tony Dinning was quite sad when he left after such a short spell. For goalkeeper I’d say Paul Jones he wasn’t great for us from what I can remember but always used to play well against us! Keith Andrews another one bang average for us then the 1-5 albion game.

Hardly an inspirational bunch and were any great against us? Martinez and Claridge possibly the only ones who would even make it into the average footballer category.

None great players, but they all had good games before or after coming to us (or both). Dinning, for example, looked like a Rolls-Royce every time we played Stockport, and scored against us at their place. Then he came to us and started wonderfully but quickly ran out of steam. Greg Halford never stood out that much before we signed him, was awful for us, then scored against us (for Cardiff, I think? Or maybe Forest).
