Five at the bottom separated from 15th by a massive 7 points. I can't see that gap closing much, so effectively it's a mini-league of 5 till the end of the season. With 12 games to go we are top of it. Just need to keep exactly where we are now: a point here, the occasional three there. Wins against Blackburn and Bolton, both at home in the next month would be massive.

We have a real opportunity to create some daylight between us and the drop over the next month or so. We should make it count.

Villa have lost Bent for some time and who knows they could be caught and that should be our Target

They look like the side that will drop like a stone this year. Don't count them out of the relegation fight and they don't know how to scrap it out down there.

I wouldn't count Villa out of things yet either

1) Bent crocked - didn't look like he will be ready to play for a while
2) Keano back to Sunset Strip

That's their 'difference' negated

Plus - still no love for the manager etc

I'd not be feeling alot more easy than we are if I were a villian

We should remember what happened to us last season! Despite the "easier run-in" it went down to the wire. I hope we'll have well escaped relegation by the time we have to play Wigan. I don't think my poor old ticker will be able to take another Survival Sunday!

It's nice to think Villa are in it but they are on 29 points, a couple of more wins and they will be fine. A poor season for them though.

A good point today
I hope the team can keep up the competitive performances until the end of the season
I have my reservations though It is still a mountain to climb
I don't believe in other teams doing favors as they all want to do their best

Just shows how important that game was against them 2-1 up playing fantastic football and then we went and screwed it up  However we move on, well done to all concerned yesterday a fantastic point. We can still stay up without doubt.

Villa could be in a little trouble when you look at their fixtures.

My mate is not sure they will get enough points to save them.

Blackburn v villa
Villa v Fulham
Arsenal v villa
Villa v Chelsea
Liverpool v villa
Villa v stoke
Man Utd v villa
Villa v Sunderland
West brom v villa
Villa v spurs
Norwich v villa

I'd not really considered Villa being in such a precarious position, but that fixture list is tough!

Isn't that similar to what Blackpool/Birmingham had round about this point last season?

Can`t really compare as there was only 3/4 points difference betwen loads of clubs at bottom this time last season.

I think it`s a shame this season that the gap is too big to bridge realisticially.
Even if Villa/Swansea have a mare they still only need two more wins really.

That equates to 0.5 of a point per game
to attain the normal 38 Wolves need 16 from 12
1.3 points per game
They are now at 0.8 ppg
As said agree that the gap may be too big
It's up to us this time folks and my fingernails won't stand it
( another useless fact )
Good luck to TC and the lads
