If I remember correctly our manager at the time, Ronnie Allen, was impressed with the opponents midfielder Frank Munro, who scored a hat-trick in that final and we bought in the next season.
About a year later Bill McGarry replaced Allen, converted Munro into a central defender and the rest is history - a great defender was created and went on to play there for Scotland.

Yes you are correct, Frank Munro became one of the best centre halves I've ever seen play just ask Malcolm Macdonaid he never managed to score against Wolves until Frank retired.
