The best Premier League forwards often boast the best conversation rate, a measurement that calculates the percentage of shots that turn into goals.

Here, we rank the Premier League players with the best conversion rate since the start of last season, featuring players to have scored a minimum of 12 goals in the division.

The Premier League players with the best conversion rate since 2022/23:

Harry Kane – 23.1% (30 goals)

Harry Kane departed for pastures new in the summer after leaving Tottenham for Bayern Munich in a club-record deal.

Kane’s final season in north London was the joint-best of his career with the club, as the England captain scored 30 goals in the Premier League. The England captain posted a goal conversion rate of 23.1% last season, a figure he has increased considerably during a record-breaking start in the Bundesliga.

Kane has scored 25 goals in 22 league appearances for Bayern Munich this season, boasting a conversion rate of 38% for the German champions.

Callum Wilson – 24% (25 goals)

Callum Wilson edges out his England colleague for fourth on this list, with the Newcastle number nine remaining a regular goalscorer when fit and available.

Fitness issues have prevented Wilson from achieving even better numbers, though he has now averaged a Premier League goal every 81.76 minutes since the start of last season.

Hwang Hee-chan – 24.1% (13 goals)

Hwang Hee-chan has found his goalscoring groove at Wolves this season, scoring more goals (10) than he managed in the previous two campaigns combined (8).

The South Korean’s sharp-shooting has helped Wolves make an impressive start under Gary O’Neil, with no player to have scored 10+ league goals this season bettering his 34% goal conversion. A marked improvement from last season’s struggle for goals.

Erling Haaland – 26.1% (52 goals)

Erling Haaland unsurprisingly features high on this list after plundering 52 league goals in a little more than 18 months at Manchester City.

Last season, Haaland broke the Premier League record for goals in a single season (36) as the Norwegian took the league by storm to fire Pep Guardiola’s side to treble success.

Despite some suggestions that Haaland has not been quite the same beast this time around, he has 17 goals from 20 appearances in the Premier League and leads the race for the Golden Boot.

A phenomenon.

Taiwo Awoniyi – 28.6% (16 goals)

Taiwo Awoniyi leads the Premier League for conversion rate since the start of last season, having turned 28.6% of his shots into goals for Nottingham Forest.

The Nigerian has been a big hit since arriving at the City Ground from Union Berlin, netting 16 goals from only 28 starts in the Premier League.

Fitness issues have plagued the 26-year-old and Forest will hope Awoniyi can keep clear of further issues and fire them to top-flight safety.

Currently just four points above the drop zone, Awoniyi’s recent return from groin surgery is a major boost to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. He has scored twice in four games since his return.
