Nothing personal about thinking he looks like someone or hating his commentary. If he was my dad I'd still tell him to add a few hundred more words to his vocabulary because it's boring hearing the same collection of words over and over, well as over and over as you can get when you score so infrequently. The funny thing is he's actually not outlandishly terrible until a goal goes in, when he becomes a parody of himself.

And I don't need to cheer up. I'm very happy we are winning and playing well. But regardless of whatever else happens in life I will never like the taste of red onion, just as I'll never be able to tolerate commentary that bad.

You used it as a criticism, or part of an attack on him, so yes, it becomes personal.

I'm not attacking him. I'm criticizing his commentary whilst simultaneously making an ad hoc observation about him in the same post. It has no bearing on my critique which is specifically about his commentary

He is the 'goal music' of commentators.

Granted it's a bit quirky the first time you hear 'Raul Jimenez, Raul Jimenez, Raul Jimenez, would you believe it, it's remarkable, it's sensational, it's absolutely stratospherical, the Mexican Sensation sends the travelling fans into raptures' before Lee Naylor chortles 'ho ho ho', but beyond that it becomes cringe to the point you'd actually rather we didn't score just so you didn't have to hear it.

Plus he looks like the former lottery winner Mikey Carroll.

But each to their own, like.

The use of the word 'plus' adds it to your criticism.

I quite like Mikey Burrows to be honest. Good passion and good commentator.

Yep, for a local radio / in-house commentator he's pretty good imo, most clubs really cheap out in that regard so we should be happy for that. The saying the name 3 times thing can sometimes be slightly grating if I'm honest, like it feels forced, as if he feels it's his catchphrase that he has to roll out all the time. Maybe save it for special occasions. A minor complaint though.

Commentating isn’t as close to easy as many on here seem to think it is!

He does a really difficult job to keep listeners and YouTube viewers watching then and want to come back again.

He does an amazing job and his stuff with Thommo is great. I often watch his pre-match stuff when I get home as he does a fantastic job in bringing in the guest and Linking in video of previous games and moments.

All commentators have their quirks, his is saying names three times is perfectly fine and he seems like a fan, so maybe that might be how he is watching if he was a normal paying punter.

Wasn't able to watch the game in its entirety, so just going on the Burrows/Thommo extended highlights.
Of course, it's a huge win and a comeback at a ground where we tend to specialise in such things. Confidence must be high at Molineux and Loppy seems to have instilled a 'never say die attitude' that was so prevalent under Nuno.
A dream debut for Gomes and real leadership being displayed by Dawson. He could be the buy of the season if he continues the way that he has started.
Max tried to gift Saints a goal, but Sa saved the day with a great save.
On the face of it, the sending-off was ridiculous, however, what was Lemina doing approaching the ref in the first place! He was already on a yellow and Mouts and Neves were already remonstrating with Gillett. None of us know what Lemina said, so it's difficult to know whether the second was justified or not. It strikes me as dumb for Lemina to put himself in that position, just as it was when Jimenez got a quick double yellow against City a few years ago. Wolves have one of the worst disciplinary records win the Prem with 4 reds and now we are without Lemina for a game. We do have Gomes to step in, but as Loppy has already got a couple of yellows himself, I just wonder whether we are overstepping the mark and leaving ourselves open to officious refs!
Anyway, we won and are starting to pull away from danger and some of the new players are stepping-up. A long way to go still, but the future looks a damn-sight rosier than a couple of months ago.

Whenever I don’t go to a game but watch it live I never watch the build up or the after game analysis because they just go on about other irrelevant things which is annoying

Mikey is a good commentator but sometimes he’s a bit OTT that said you don’t have to watch highlights with volume high
