Can understand the Coady sale. Not so much on loan but there you go.
£40mil for MGW if thats to be believed, thats a fine sale. Some credit should go to transfer committee if we have managed to get that much for a player refusing a contract (if thats true). Played it well.

MUST be reinvested into positions we need.

Dario Osorio scored for his club yesterday. The rumours about him joining have gone a bit quiet.

Guedes virtually guaranteed. He's at Wolves today.

I still hear MGW will be sold but from more reliable folks it seems Guedes is NOT the replacement. All I know ATM, apart from a suggestion that Mr Coady wasn't a happy camper on the coach back from Leeds.
Why wasn’t he happy? I thought he was the one pushing for the move otherwise why would we have gone for loan with option? Or was it bittersweet?

Was it Kendall or Burridge who used to do the pretend pick up ball and instead kick it 10 yards trick? Cannot get that out of my head now.

Also the one where he’d turn his back on the ball and trap the ball between his bum and calves.
How big was the ball?!!

My head's all over the shop with the Coady deal:

- Understand it's good for Coady himself if Lage has indicated a change in formation is the new norm and playing time will be limited
- Understand his desire to play in the WC and needing that regular playing time somewhere
- Understand the board looking out for a players personal ambitions and goals given what he's done for the club and how long he's been here

- Don't understand the option to buy. Surely needs to be a sale or obligation if Everton in the **** defensively and would mean a better deal for Wolves (which is what I ultimately care about)
- Don't understand loaning him to a rival (although I guess options are limited for Coady to keep himself in shop window for WC selection)

It's all happened a bit quick in my opinion, as if there's been a disagreement and they've got him out, I think if it was solely because of game time for the World Cup he'd have gone later in the window

Nothing but speculation though

Agree with all the above but for those who rate him as an actual footballer, why aren't teams queuing up for him as he's available for loan/less than 15m? Just being objective rather than looking for bites BTW - best of luck to him

Coady's excelled in what is a specialist and rarely-played position. He hasn't played much as a 'traditional' central defender.

We should really have a recall option if there is no obligation to buy.

Coady has been a fantastic man around the place. The reasons for him being dropped from new formation well-rehearsed. We 'owe' him for helping drag this club around.

BUT - he is a very big presence in the dressing room. If he is not playing, he may be a focus for dissent. He is such a big and infectious character that he may have inhibited the development of some younger guys - not as footballers but as future leaders in the dressing room.

Looking for the positive in everything, this could be the making of Neves, Kilman & a few more. It allows THEM to be significant leaders within the group.
