I'm not exaggerating when I say that that was worse than the 6-0 Southampton defeat.

A completely predictable defeat from the realists amongst us.
Very sad to see the team have thrown in the towel though.

Never mind, we'll bounce back up from the Championship ..... maybe.

No complaints with the team selection.

I felt it right to play two defensive midfielders, but would rather have seen Guediora instead of OHara. It didn't work for Kights ( A big ask )

Jarvis, O'Hara, and Henry were awful again.

Blame lies firmly on the shoulders of Mick and Connor. A poorly coached and very predictable team in terms of our attacking play. I just cannot see where the goals are coming from. We will be very lucky to stay up.

Seriously?
You may have expressed satisfaction with it prior to kick off, but are you not questioning it now?
Fair play for mentioning though.

No complaints with Ward and Stearman at full back ?
No complaints that Craddock and Kightly started ?
Hammill and Milijas have to start.
McCarthy has finally run out of steam...and the few ideas he started with.
As they say in Yorkshire....thanks for nowt.

Hennessey 7 - needs a cognac and a tin hat, no protection from the defence.
Stearman 3 - Not a right back.
Craddock 3 - older than a conker tree
Berra 3 - slower than a conker tree
Ward 3 - I'll end up on a mental ward watching wingers take him apart
Looby Loo 3 - time to go home
Henry 3 - No Mas
O' Hara 5 - Mick has turned him into Henry mark II.
Jarvis 4 - no longer the surprise factor for prem right backs
Kights 5 - You've just got fit in time for the championship campaign
Fletcher 3 - Our midfield were in a different postal district

Subs - Can't be a***ed to mark em

Mick 1 - I have no respect or sympathy for managers who play for a draw but I'll give you 1 for writing your name at the top of your note pad.

Why does Milijas have to start. When was the last time he played twice in a week and when was the last he played past 60 mins.

Why not give David Jones a chance we have tried everybody else.

Verdict....just not good enough!
I dont usually involve myself too much in the discussions that go on in here however after tonights performance enough is enough
I cant help feeling that Mick has lost the plot and despite all he has done for the club and being one of his biggest fans I think i finally have to admit he doesnt have what it takes to cut it at this level
For all the talk of team spirt and dying for the cause im afraid that will only get you so far...there has to be some kind of tactical nous to go with it.
Yes he dragged us up from the gutter when he first came to the club and delivered us to the promised land of the premier league for, which i will be forever grateful, however we seem to have gone backwards since that day....the team he has constructed is simply not good enough and his team line ups over the past few games have been nothing but baffling
He still hasnt sorted out the defence...Hennesey I feel is a good keeper however a keeper is only as good as his defence. Tonight we lined up with a defender in Craddock who was deemed surplus to requirements by Mick several seasons ago yet somehow finds himself in the starting line up some seasons on for the want of a better option. Stearman at right back in place of Foley who is argubally our best player in that position, Ward at left back, who for all his versatility is no where near a premier league left back and Berra the octopus.
This is before we even get to the midfield. I like Henry and he fulfils a certain role yet if you are going to play him, you cannot accomodate him and Mancienne in the same midfield, it just smacks of damage limitation and removes any chance of creativity coming from the middle of the pitch.
Kightly, a player who i feel, when fit, does have the required to make it as a premier league player, however he has been out for the best part of 2 years and is still finding his feet since coming back from injury yet he is picked ahead of Hammill who in the appearances he has made thus far had looked a threat, yet for some reason finds himself on the bench and no longer getting a look in. Dont even get me started on Guediora on the wing last week! CM yes, but the wing.....
Also O'Hara is not a 2nd striker, play him in midfield where we won player of the season for Portsmouth last year FFS.
Its just sqaure pegs in round holes all over the pitch. Ward at left back, then Ward up front and Mancienne at left back. How long have you had to buy a decent left back Mick!!
I try to stay positive but i really cant see us staying up this season now, and if by some chance we do, I think we need to say thanks to Mick for the memories but find ourselves a manager who can actually move us forward

If Mick left Wolves, which other Premiership team would have him?

I don't think so either.

No complaints with Ward and Stearman at full back ?

The midfield is the problem. As I have said repeatedly I would play Henry RB and Foley holding. Stearman has impressed me this season (his height I would have thought been useful tonight) and we don't really have much of a choice at LB. I thought Wardy played well against Fulham.

No complaints that Craddock and Kightly started ?

Felt we needed Jody's character and leadership (didn't work) and was puzzled that Kights played in such an important game.

He would go straight to a Championship club who are looking to build up to the status of solid promotion contenders. Nottingham Forest or someone of that ilk.

Worst performance I've seen from us in a long time. Without Milijas we just kept going sideways without being able to find an opening. Eventually O'Hara, Henry or Mancienne, whose performance outdid anything I saw from Paul McLoughlin, Paul Jones, John Paskin, Jens Dowe or even Mike Small in the ineptitude stakes in 25 years as a Wolves fan, would inevitably give it away. We tried going long and Stoke again dealt with us with ease. We tried shoving Berra up front, Ward up front, 442, 451, 433, 424.....nothing worked.

Ward and Mancienne were shown up at full back. Pennant will not have an easier game. Only Etherington getting injured early on and more heroics from Hennessey kept the score down. Craddock and Berra were pulled all over the place by an impressive Jones. Stearman looked awkward and his distribution what you would expect from a centre back atfull back.

We offered nothing going forward, were outmuscled by a vibrant, motivated, always-pressing Stoke midfield, and isolated up front. Henry fought but his distribution was bad even for him. Without Miljas we lacked guile- o'Hara didn't provide it and at present looks incapable. Jarvis had a very poor game- his constant check backs are becoming very predictable and defenders have wised up. Kightly looked rusty but put in a shift which no doubt will earn him the shirt next game in our managers eyes.

Fletcher actually put himself about well and worked hard without being as effective as Doyle could be. He craved support but got none until Guedioura came on. Gued at least offers energy without always quality.

Overall it didn't take an expert to see our failings. Stoke exploited our weakness- full back, pressed us high until we gave away possession because we won't take the ball when under duress and don't play any passes of any degree of expansion. We are fine when teams let us have the ball like the top teams that underestimated us, bur against comparable sides we just don't know how to carve out opportunities. This coupled with Stoke playing the numbers game- create enough chances and their defenders will make a mistake- saw a training ground performance in our most one sides game in a long time.

I have been a Mick fan since day one, one of his chief protagonists and I still believe he is a very good manager. That said, every manager reaches a point at a club where whatever they try doesn't come off. He shook up the team today because it needed freshening up, but the changes, almost for the sake of it, did nothing. Our lopsided squad, with a few injuries, looks dreadfully short on quality and heads dropped for the 3rd game on the bounce. Has Mick reached his point of no return?

We set out for a draw and had no plan if the score ever changed from 0-0. We were awful, as bad as we've been all season. Craddock coming back was a mistake, dropping Foley was a mistake, not signing a left back was a mistake, O'Hara becoming basically undroppable is a massive mistake.

Five days to pick them up and rescue the season

To start with Mancienne in midfield when you have Foley available is almost a sackable offence. Foley is a quality player, who has performed well for Wolves for years. To see him dropped in favor of Mancienne is just mindboggling. I think that Foley does the DM role just as well as Henry, and miles better than Mancienne.

Spot on. Our best central midfield has been Milijas playing alongside Foley in a 4-4-2

On the coach back so can't go on and on but if anyone who's been tonight thinks that MM should stay must be bonkers! Defence = Shambles. Midfield = Worse. Forward = Average, ie won some hoofs. JOH please go home wherever that maybe. WH thanks for your efforts, you deserved better. KH - Tried but sadly lacking. MK - just nowhere near ready. MJ - England, Really? AG - You tried, thank you for that. Away end booed MM off, his time is drawing to an end

These players are now looking relieved when they lose the ball as if it means that they dont have to think about what they have to do anymore only chase the Stoke players heels instead.
Our fixture list had got us over a difficult period playing well and now we were supposed to benefit from an easier programme but McCarthy has given it away.
Do we believe the claptrap we have been fed this season that we play well or what we saw tonight? Yes only Hennessey played well the rest did not make up a team.

I left 10 minutes early to miss the traffic. I never do that. I was on the M6 when the final whistle went.

I have lost belief in Wolves a few times in the last few years, each and every time I have been proven wrong. In the last few years I have not been able to see how the slump oculd be reversed, I have been proven wrong each and every time.

After the last 4 matches, I cannot see how the trend can be reversed in time.

Tonight was truly, truly awful.

What did he say for us non members

Mentioned 2 deflections but straight after says hes not making any excuses (then why mention it), When asked whats gone wrong since Villa he says 2 two week breaks, Evertons 2 unstoppable goals etc..

He also said we got played off the park by a better side in all areas apart from GK where Hennessey had a brilliant game.

It must have been bad sb. You are one of the most positive people on the Mix when it comes to believing in the team.

I think we're down now. Two more tough local derbies to get through - but you never know. We always seem to do it the hard way.

just got back from work and watched it on football first, it should have been on a X rated channel, that was absolute dross, didnt look like scoring, no passion, no commitment, no guile, no leadership, we have well and truly lost the plot.

11 goals conceded and 1 scored in the last 4 games, it seems like a different team to the one that played against Villa, which was only 4 games ago, the panic button was pressed once Doyle got injured and the wheels have come off, if we dont get something at Blues then I can't see us surviving on current form.

Mick's tenure will be judged on the next 4 games......
