Just had a quick look at when we score and concede goals. We've scored and conceded four goals in the first half of games so far this season. But in the second half we've scored just one goal and conceded 10. So quite a stark contrast. What does that tell us and how can we fix it? One thought I had is maybe we need to use Costa for the last half hour of games rather than starting?

Exactly. It fell behind the rest during the Covid season. Seemed to pick up a bit initially under Bruno, then relapsed again. The last 2 matches have been a bit better. Still needs to improve, though.

Also, game management. Substitutions. Adapting to the game as the flow changes. Bruno was terrible at it and the temporary fixers seem no better.

This is about poor seconds half performances, though. Our finishing is equally poor in both halves! They work on it, but our best finishers are crocked and the rest? Well, Adama has worked on it for 20 years now, similar to the rest, what you see is most likely all you'll ever get.

It's fitness and Clipboard Lage being completely unable to react.

Numerous times we'd see the opposition make a tweak for the 2nd half, and go on to win the game because of it. Top managers correct stuff that isn't working, and they do it on the day.

We've been a 1 half team (often a 0 half team!) now for over 2 years back to Nuno's days. Can anyone remember the last game we played equally well in both halves? It has to be some time ago.

Iv not seen a dominating Wolves display at Molineux for a while. Maybe the 4-0 against Watford which feels like 5 years ago

Manage the squad and the players we have at our disposal.
We have had alot of injuries and quite alot of the half fit calibre of players on top of that.
That´s what I´m talking about..squadmanagement..AND starting eleven management.
We all saw for ourselves we didn´t do that properly against Palace last match.
It needs to stop.
For example..Diego Costa,as the ageing blunt guy he now is(hey..it happens to all of us)..it is better for Hwang to start matches..and soften the opposition up a bit before unleashing The Diego on them at that point.
It happened against West Ham,and Costa was looking the sharpest he ever was since Athletico when we did.
Let´s try it some more.

Quite simple, inability to make changes in response to changes made by the opposition, hardly suprising when you look at the careers of Bruno and Davis, not likely to change any time soon.

Too many players for various reasons haven't been fit enough to last a full 90 minutes.

I can’t remember watching a team above Sunday league level where a lack of fitness is so evident and causes so many issues.

Any team that plays against us should set a high tempo, high press, keep going, make subs on the hour and will probably come out on top.

We lack tactical nouse. Opposition managers see what is happening first half, adjust and we have just been there for the taking.

We have gifted half a dozen goals this season. Unacceptable

We were crap at finishing games last season too. Last season in the second half of games we were F19 A28, in the injury blighted Covid season we were F20 A27 in the second half of games

In 19/20, our second half goals record was F37 A14. So inevitably we had people moaning about our first half performances!

Finishing games poorly does point to a lack of fitness, but also indicates a problem managing in game. We've got rid of one problem, hopefully we can get our fitness sorted out and start to get positive numbers in the second half of matches

So it's scored 20 and conceded 15 now (+5) first half and scored 11 conceded 32 (-21) second half. What a bunch of ****s we've turned into.
