I have also been told this recently so can back this up. FOSUN looking to cut absolutely all expenditure that isn't absolutely necessary.

It’s at this moment that I hope we are covering the costs of the ‘O what a goal’ half time “entertainment”

That’s the first thing I’d like to see ditched lol

They cut a good and positive footballing success story…….

But I look forward to them announcing the next non football related but wolves branded scheme…..

Get to **** fosun!!!!

I said last season, over the pre-season, earlier today they didn’t/don’t care for the football and bought us to create other revenue streams using our history, heritage and legacy.

This proves it!!!

I bet the record label and e-sports are losing money hand over fist!!!!!

Just sell up and **** off!!!!
If fosun are reading this, and I hope you're not, please ignore.

The record label — while admirable in their mission to give a platform to local artists — is one of the most insanely stupid looking business propositions now

It's heavily tied to Warner Music, yes that Warner Music. On the face of it, the concept does seem rather ambitious, I don't think it is really though...

It seems to be a tiny division of a much larger entity focused on local artists and they have Wolves branding, that's about it.

It may or may not be a success, ( I’ve no idea because I haven’t seen any numbers), but it wasn’t insane. I doubt Wolves, just on a whim, decided to try it. Let’s face it, Fosun are obviously very bright at investing and would have come up with a business plan before going ahead.
Fosun wouldn’t be a massive corporation by making stupid or insane decisions.
Sometimes an idea is worth a punt.

Not very bright at player investments looking at the size of over payments on some players and the minuscule fees on people like Raul, Giles (4m is way too low), allowing adama to go on a free when offers were made over his last three seasons.

Great at real world business, but the way they are running this football club into a financial mess would say the sporting world is well outside their ability level.

So many missteps, from ticket prices, shop issues and now the rumours of binning the ladies and the men struggling to have the cash to buy anything other than free agents.

Sack off the current man in Jeff and just bring in an actual football person

My favourite part of his rant was "this proves it". I imagine him screaming it in a "leave Britney alone" type fashion.
The point of if they were to get rid of the women it does prove that football playing isn’t seen as important to them.

I hope it isn’t true, but to get rid of a team that has been a massive success story again due to money issues is a bloody disgrace!

I am also not an irrational teen, I can make a point without screaming, try not to mock the poster rather than argue the points….

As if they pull the team it is further proof, I can’t see who you argue it any other way, but if you can, without a below the belt pot shot, I look forward to a grown up discussion/chat

If fosun are reading this, and I hope you're not, please ignore.
So you are happy the women who have been nothing but a breathe of fresh air and a great success might disappear or be heavily affected due to fosun mismanagement????

But they will push out more branded deals for cheap headphones, payment system or lager to emails soon.

Or last seasons trademark after a bad result a 20% plus or greater deal on something in the club shop.

Let’s be fair, if the people in charge genuinely thought this site was a fair reflection of the fanbase they’d have sold up years ago.
Exactly…..

doesn’t look like they care about the fans anyway….

They might read it/things but Jeff said in one of his interviews he almost ignores the negative stuff, so they comb social media for only praise. Or at least they used to do it that way.

It would be strange (and a massive shame) if anything happened to the women’s team. We’ve just made two pretty big signings.
I have started making a few calls and getting a few messages out there.

The vibes back so far is; the first team well coached, great atmosphere. The “academy” or younger teams, their attendance rates are shocking and younger 16-18 players are training with the seniors to make sure they don’t have wasted trips at times.

I think they do care, but they’re sensible enough to know that nothing is as ever as black or white as we think on here. When we win we’re not as good as some will claim, and when we lose we’re never as bad as you’d think.

The best businesses ignore praise and listen to criticism, but if Fosun were on here to do that they’d never get anything else done!

Very true

But there are lessons and quick wins to be had by reading though.

Ticket prices
Shop issues
Match day experience
Actual communication with us!

Some quick and easy wins that wouldn’t cost much, that would drive down frustration levels.

I’m sure they’re aware of what people are unhappy about, it’s whether or not they can do anything about it.

All of those points they have 100% ability to make a direct and swift impact on.

Hence why I left the subject of the summer signing a player off hahaha

The points suggested like communicate with fans can be done by 12 today after a check from legal and marketing/branding (to make sure it fits into the image/agreed coms style). And would be free.

Holding the people who pack orders to account for turtle paced delivery of orders, takes a few days at worst to review and sort as all data is on spreadsheets and CRM systems.

I doubt the money spent or made on our esports and record label would make much of a dent in Nunes wages. They're for social media exposure.

I will wager no money is made, only lost on the e-sports we play.

Hashtag United had a team of 4/5 at one point and were one of the top competitive fifa teams in the scene.

They had to trim the players down plus support staff as the returns just are not there.

Sure it is good advertising. But we never see a wolves e-sports player has having won anything and in the fifa arena, I haven’t seen one do well in any major tournies.

I enjoy watching e-sports fifa, it is a turn your brain off experience that is just nuts how into it the players get. But wolves doing it just seems to be dead and frankly money ****ed up the wall.

The best fifa player we had to win something was Jota HAHAHA.

What actual communication do you want? If the rumours are true do you really think they’ll come out and say “wolves are up for sale” ?? That’s commercial suicide, it not only weakens any sale value but certainly also makes any prospective signings think twice. Would you move job to a company that have actively come out and said they’re up for sale, I wouldn’t.

They’ve proven in the past that open communication with wolves fans is a complete waste of time because it’ll only get chucked right back at you. The round table two summers ago proves that. Not heard anything for a year so people moaned, they came out and did something I’d not seen another club do and people were “you can’t believe anything they say” and more ridiculously moaning at Hobbs choice of footwear and clothing.

How do you sell anything without putting it ‘up for sale’?

I wouldn’t expect a Berriman Eaton ‘For Sale’ sign to suddenly pop up on The Waterloo Road but Fosun would make it known in the right money circles. Effectively, that would then make it public knowledge. Pretty similar to Newcastle under Ashley.

Just an update on the vision for the club, talk about community work to help the children.
There are things they could talk about. But zero coms is just ridiculous.

Talk about the new kit designs, the exciting new branding opportunities they have and what they want them to achieve for the club.

You are correct. Some are in the toxic world of going after clothing because they must moan and that is tragic and a sad indictment of society……

If they did a press release this week about all the things you mention this place would go into absolute meltdown. It’d be “never mind all that ffs where are the signings”. They’re in a bad situation currently (some of it most definitely their own doing at wolves) but some of it is the wider Fosun group and geopolitics, they’re doing right keeping their powder dry. I like JL I think he’s a top coach and the best we’ve had in my lifetime but he’s absolutely done wrong this week. We don’t need to be in the press.

Coming out and saying “we want a sale” is desperation stakes, Albion have had to do it because of their dire situation. It just makes the vultures circle. They’re a huge conglomerate with fingers in many sectors, they can (and probably will) sell it on the quiet. The Newcastle bit only became “live” about a week before the proposed takeover (before the fa put a foot down) and our sale to fosun originally only became public domain days before.

I just don’t like washing our dirty laundry in public, which is why JL was wrong this week. It’s weak at best, lacks professionalism and damaging at worst.

Unfortunately you play with matches you get burned……

JL is an elite level manager, that comes with extra risk of stories coming out.

He has done wrong 100% on two occasions, but now they do need to say something as the stories are coming out accross mainstream media about the state the club is supposed to be in.

Massive damage is being done to the brand, damage that they can mitigate or reduce with a statement that now is needed!

Whether they like it or not, they need to speak

There will be intermediaries who will know who is looking to buy and who is looking to sell. Maybe even people like Mendes, but generally the Banks (those that are used to dealing in specialist areas/ industries) are used to match up the selling and buying parties.
Selling a business is not like selling a car or house or a tin of beans

It's a very long game they have to play if they're to see a return on their investment with the Women's team...

They may never turn a profit. At the moment the Women's team is a millstone around the neck of the men's team that is subsidizing them.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, and perhaps one that others may be scared to share but most football fans couldn't give a monkey's about the Women's game, I couldn't care less. Maybe Fosun are alive to that fact.

Many men don’t care for women’s football, but what about the women and girls who do?

The team get ok attendances for the level they ply at.

The club is the one who took it more in house and access to things that cost more. So they made the decision that is what seems to have caused the financial issues from what I was told this morning.

I would rather see the women as a long term project that isn’t doing that great on financial returns, than a record label and e-sports team that have nothing to do with football.

Plus in the case of e-sports haemorrhaging money each year with proper and established e-sports teams making massive cuts and losses each year over the last few.

E-sports and record label being any kind of focus when the women’s are at risk is a disgrace!! It always needs to be football first at a football club.

Not projects for kids sat on their Xboxes who don’t give two ****s about a club in the midlands…… what artists on this wolves label have had a solo not colab top 40 hit???

Bar S-X (who has the KSI brand and hype behind him) I cannot think of any and it isn’t the wolves name or brand that has helped him i the slightest. Being a long term collaborator and friend of KSI and being seen on his channel before the wolves label did that.

Well it's time they got behind the Women's game isn't it? Make it a viable profitable venture.

Is that enough? Probably not.

So what? They carry on ploughing money in to something that losing every penny that goes in?

I'm a "no white elephants" kinda guy.

Whatabouttery. But yeah, okay.

Even Lyon are selling their US Women's franchise.

I've always felt the crossover in to eSports was fanciful, but presumably someone's done some calculations with regards to it's feasibility. I guess the record label doesn't need to be top of the charts to turn a profit though.

I bow to your superior knowledge regarding eSports. I don't care about it, I don't watch it and have no interest in it whatsoever. Couldn't give a **** if Fosun pulled the plug on that either.

Fair points made mate, about attendances. But statistically across the country they are on the way up. So will take time and patience.

My point about the women and spend was made by the club, they are the ones who brought it in house and gave them access to more expensive and professional things. It was never pushed for by the players or set up. So this costs and all is mismanagement again by old Jeff…… if he had left it as it was, they wouldn’t be any issues financially from what I am reliably informed on in regards to this.

I too don’t want white elephants attached to the club draining resource. My point was if Fosun insist on doing it, then it should be a football related endeavour.

The record label point is more around the fact, I cannot name any acts signed by the label playing the kind of shows or getting radio plays that would be likely to generate profit.

The running of the club has been misguided and poor for some time

Yes it has. At what point do Fosun stop flogging a dead horse though?

We're finding out now.

If you want to grow support for the club/ brand then ****ing off 50% of the available support population is not the way to do it. In reality what does it cost to run the women's team per year? A few weeks of Costas's salary? And lets face it, for the level they play at, the Wolves Women have been more successful than the men in the last couple of years.
If we really are having to save every last penny than ditching the records, clothing and eSports is where I would start, not closing a a football playing part of a football club.
