Arsenal are back in for Pedro Neto as they attempt to finally bring the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger to North London this summer.

That is according to a report from Football Transfers, who claim that Arsenal are ready to move for Neto this summer.

It’s stated that Mikel Arteta wanted to sign Neto last summer as he attempted to add another winger.

Wolves demanded a huge fee though and Arsenal shelved their interest.

Arsenal may have better luck this time though and it’s suggested that Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui would be happy to strike a deal.

Lopetegui needs money to spend this summer and selling Neto would bring some cash into the Molineux coffers.

Neto is still under contract with Wolves until 2027 but Arsenal will have real hope of finally landing the Portuguese talent.

The Express claimed in January that Arsenal still had a ‘firm interest’ in signing Neto after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk.

The Times suggested last summer that Arsenal were quoted around £60million for Neto but Wolves surely wouldn’t get close to that now.

HITC View: Pedro Neto may need a fresh start amid Arsenal interest

Hailed as ‘special’ and ‘sensational’ by Jamie Redknapp back in 2020, Neto looked like he would become an absolute star for Wolves.

Sadly, a major knee injury in 2021 has set Neto back and he hasn’t quite managed to recapture his top form.

The 23-year-old has managed just 11 Premier League starts this season and hasn’t recorded a single goal or assist.

An ankle injury suffered in October kept Neto out for four months and he may just need a fresh start away from Wolves.

The idea would be for Neto to serve as competition for Bukayo Saka down Arsenal’s right flank.

Both Neto and Saka are left-footed and can cause absolute mayhem coming in off the right flank.

The Gunners need more depth with Champions League football on the horizon and Neto could be their man.

Neto would surely jump at the move too.

In 2021, he admitted to talkSPORT that he grew up supporting Arsenal and loved Arsene Wenger’s approach.

Arsenal would be trusting Neto to recapture his best form if they do make a move; if so, the Gunners would become even more dangerous.
