The dust has only just settled on the 2021-22 campaign with Norwich, Watford and Burnley dropping into the Championship.

But it’s a quick turnaround with less than 70 days until the new 2022-23 season starts on August 6th, with the fixtures to be announced on June 16th.

It will include a six-week mid-season break to accommodate the World Cup in Qatar with the final round of fixtures to be played on the final weekend in May.

But who are the favourites to be relegated?

Nottingham Forest are 8/11 to be relegated next season after they defeated Huddersfield in the Championship play-off final.

Steve Cooper’s side will play top-flight football for the first time in 23 years — 8,414 days since Forest were relegated in 1999.

  • Everton: 9/2
  • Crystal Palace : 5/1

However, Forest will need to recruit wisely with Djed Spence, Keinan Davis, Philip Zinckernagel, and James Garner, who all started the play-off final, returning to their parent clubs.

Bournemouth (8/11) have also been tipped to struggle under Scott Parker.

Championship winners Fulham are offered at 11/10 as all three promoted sides dominate the top of the betting market.

Betfair think Leeds, who escaped relegation on the final day, will have another tricky season with Jesse Marsch’s side at 5/2 to be relegated.

It could be second-season syndrome for Brentford, especially if Christian Eriksen doesn’t commit to staying, and that’s perhaps why they are priced at 11/4.

Southampton (7/2), Everton (9/2) and Crystal Palace (5/1) follow next, while Wolves (5/1), Brighton (8/1) and Aston Villa (8/1) are the last at single-figure prices.
