I remember going to my first match at Molineux, driving up from Hindhead to watch the first or second game in the third division when we were on our way down. Coming from down south and never having been taken to a game by my father, I was a little nervous as hooliganism was rife. I remember thinking I had better not talk to anyone or I would be sussed and beaten up.
I had not realised though what it meant to be a Wolves fan. Only 2 stands were open. I arrived late having driven 160ish miles. Someone asked me something and laughed at my accent. He soon had a bunch of mates round me all asking how come I was a wolves fan and I realised I was a wolves fan to them and that was all that mattered.
I have felt that ever since but this season the fans attitude has been different. Premier league fans? I don't know but how can some fans be so aggressive to their own?
