I haven't listened to Portishead for years, but I still listen to Beth Gibbons & Rustin' Man's "Out Of Season". Superb album, and very underrated.
Gig prices have just gone the way of football prices. It was inevitable really. At least the chances of actually enjoying a gig are higher than at football.
It's like yazoo reforming, it's all about the £ they have a 4 disc retrospective coming out just before the tour, soon all 80's and 90's groups who disbanded will be doing it. Even Led Zep couldn't resist it.
Got tickets yesterday - £30 a pop plus booking fee and admin charge... nearly £75 all together for two tickets!! Great band though and they're at the Civic the day before their new album is released so should be a good gig, despite the steep prices...
