Parking around Wembley?

I'm taking my GF to the Cirque du Soleil circus thingie at Wembley on Friday eve, after which we need to get out asap and bomb down the M4 to Gloucester. I remember getting away from the old Wembley was an absolute pain cos of the queues & jams etc.

So - two questions really - has the parking & getting-away-afterwards situation improved in the new Wembley? And assuming not, does anyone know of any cunning places to leave a car nearbyish Wembley / closish to the M4 / easy tube?

I used to know a perfect place but it's permit only nowadays. So, any suggestions gratefully received - preferably free parking or cheapish car parks etc, definitely which allow for a rapid getaway.

I always park at Stanmore and get the tube (about 5 minutes) - either park on the station or by the shops (just past Mcdonalds) and walk. Fairly quick back to the M25 and then onto the M4.
