Very thin on the ground now, Newcastle have a very strong team & bench, not looking forward to this

They have a squad built for a run in the Champions League. It would be embarrassing for them not to finish top eight, going to be a lot of disgruntlement in that squad if they can't maintain Europe.

A point for us today would be massive to not lose ground, but this is probably as good a time to play us as there ever will be. Tired legs and injuries to three key players, it may catch up to us today. I hope we can put in another gritty performance, but it's going to be tough sledding today.

Yes the bench is weak but there are some options.

Fraser up front, Traore in midfield, Doc RWB or higher up, Bueno LWB and RAN can move higher up. Do any improve first 11 - probably not but you could see 3-4 coming on if needed and GO’N rarely uses 5 subs.

And will have had to come out of school to travel yesterday so academy teaching staff may have travelled, or more likely he will pick up the education next week. The safeguarding lead will have planned the arrangements for the trip.

Seems that most teams are suffering with them this season.

It’s not specific to us , these things happen .
It’s just we don’t have much cover . With a squad of 25 we probably have 20 capable of being used . But even that’s unbalanced. In Gary we trust .
