Just saw the extended press conference following the game and Lopetegui mentioned he, along with Podence, has had a minor surgery.

Would explain why he suddenly hasn’t been involved of late.

Hopefully nothing serious for either of them.

I’m sure if Podence hadn’t thrown himself on the ground so much I’m sure his nose would have been fine.

But he is nearer to the floor so he has less reaction time to protect his beak.
