Wolves fans who lived through the desperate summer of recruitment after promotion and the end of 19 years in the wilderness will surely remember this saga.

His agent was the one and only Willie McKay - who graciously allowed a season of Henri Camara before getting the player to go on strike. M'Bami was one on the long list of those who held talks with us and then promptly did a runner elsewhere (see also Emerson, Dino Baggio).

Kameni actually signed I think, but we couldn't get a work permit, despite several appeals. He would have made a massive difference that year.
