I suspect a lot has moved on since Watford’s initial complaint and the PL have only just got round to investigating it. The story I heard from a good source up in Liverpool that was part of the £50m Richarlson fee was “hush” money. Hence why a few eyebrows were raised when Everton paid that much for a forward who hadn’t scored for 20-odd games.
