I've had a look but can't see anything about this so far.... (Edit: Sorry, just seen a few posts about it in the 'Todays Games' thread)

The Manchester United match is currently delayed with no concrete kick-off time. Around 200 fans protested outside the ground and later on made their way onto the pitch.

Reports that they are also at the player's hotels and preventing coaches from departing / arriving.

Good

Not sure this makes any difference as the Slimey Six got the message two weeks ago.
Its just disruptive and won’t change anything.

Yes good. Go on the BBC live thread and the ex footballers are saying it’s not doing the club any favours.

Well sometimes if they won’t listen then they have to do it by any means necessary and this is one of those occasions.

This has been going on for too long now and it’s the straw that broke the camel’s back.

More power to them. Hope the Glazers’ get up, get out and truck off.

They didn't get the message at all. If there was any understanding of English football they wouldn't have done it. They'll never get the message, which is why the ownership model has to change.

Stupid that utd fans turned on Jamie Carracher and threw missiles towards the gantry. The protest was meant to be against the ownership of the club, all of a sudden we're worried about people's safety and it shouldn't have been a concern on the basis of what it was about but they ruined that by their actions once in there. ****ing idiots

The fans are making their voices heard and their presence known. I would argue that it absolutely serves a purpose in showing that:

  • The movement for 50+1 fan ownership is still very much on
  • The fans will not be letting this go as they have previous transgressions
  • This will not "all get forgotten about" a few weeks later as most speculated
  • Football fans can mobilise effectively should there be a need to do so
And yeah, of course it's disruptive. That's literally the whole point in the same way that the BLM protests in the US last year were "disruptive".

Game off. Will be interesting when fans are back in the ground if these things continue, if you’ve got 10s of thousands in the stadium it won’t take many to disrupt it repeatedly

Sky must be livid not being able to broadcast this. This is their biggest fixture...

Football needs to change.

SKY's James Cooper "This was a demonstration and a protest that was meant to be about fan representation and share issues in light of the collapse of the ESL. What it has done is galvanise that debate and caught the imagination of the world. The debate among Manchester United fans is whether they've been represented properly and effectively or whether things went a little too far."

A little too far! **** off. They should kick over the statues and torch the place.

They most certainly did get the message......they suffered a huge loss of face all over the world, in their families, friends, their massive social circles.
The fact of their slinking back is proof of the lesson learned.

All I meant was that the owners can’t get any more of the point.....it was saturated two weeks ago. There’s only so much sugar you can put into a cup of tea.

I went into Manchester this morning on train. There were a few lads on train with carrier bags full of cans saying they were hoping to watch the game from the directors box. Don’t think they expected game to get called off, but don’t think they will be complaining as would have been **** for them if they had lost to scousers and handed title to city

Nuff respect to them peaceful fans that stopped the match.
In a non violent way,I hope they continue to do it for the rest of this season.
Probably the only way they will ever get rid of the vultures that goes by the name of Glazer.

Do you really think the Glazers make their decisions based on their image or their standing in tbeir "social circles". It's simply a financial decision for them, they didn't really start with any investment, they were massively leveraged and they make every decision based on their own financial return. They have no interest in the long term future of the game, their fans who can't afford the prices, the other clubs, just the bottom line. That's the message they have not and will never get.

Looking at Utd fixtures coming up don't see where they will put the rearranged fixture maybe after playing us.

Look at it from their point of view and not the fans’ view. Try to look at this from outside of football. This is global corporate stuff.
Go read the business and financial papers from the last several weeks. It’s all there.
Read what the investment world thinks about the ESL and the climb down.

Will Utd be fined / docked points? Failure to control fans?
Shouldn't be held responsible for the fans but should be fined for not making the stadium harder to break into

Security is a joke

That's not tbe point though, they made a mistake, everyone knows they made a mistake. When they make their next decision it will still be about the bottom line.

Hardly Utd’s fault that a determined group of “supporters” made their way into a closed ground, not in anyway a reflection of a typical match day scenario?
Those that took part on the pitch look like a bunch of young kids jumping on the bandwagon for a bit of laugh.
