Another eyeball test for you: using a log log slide rule, solve x^x = 10,000. Detailed instructions:

* open the slide rule simulator at http://www.antiquark.com/sliderule/sim/n3t/virtual-n3-t.html

* click on the "flip to other side of slide rule button". The bottom scale should now be LL3

* slide the cursor to 10,000 on the LL3 scale (the vertical bar for the position is just to the left of the number 10,000)

* slide the centre bar of the slide rule until the number at the cursor on the C scale is equal to the number on the LL3 scale where the number 1 is on the C scale

* read off the number on the C scale where the cursor is
