Maybe he spent the summer doing his coaching badges.
Just remembered Conor Coady was doing his - Coady for manager anyone?

Coady would be a fantastic number two I recon.

He does have a fantastic grasp and knowledge of the game and would be an asset to any club who give him that opportunity

..would be my No.1 choice.
Knows the club inside out, would slot straight in for the start of the season.
Would also settle things down from the current nonsense.
You want a guy with zero managerial experience to take over a PL club with £0 transfer budget?

Really?

I’d risk Joao in a last ten games panic scenario, but it’s too soon to start a season with him.
As for the ‘true colours’ crowd, we have no idea what went on. Julen was lied to, maybe Joao was too?

So keep him on the back burner for March after O'Neil and Lampard have had a go then?

He wouldn't turn up and clap the fans at the end of last season. Been a great player but for me it has tainted it. No longer want him here.

Wouldn't want him as a gaffer either. Assistant maybe.

Does anyone know WHY or have we just settled on ‘he was mean’?

He always went out of his way to praise the fans.

I took it as a lack of respect for the fans. I can understand being upset with the club. But not turning up even normal clothes to clap the fans at the end of the game was a ridiculous decision

There was a post on her last week that he was still in the Wolverhampton area which surprised me, but maybe he’s coming back as a Coach to keep the Spanish and Portuguese players on side

Context is king. The narrative that he just thought ‘**** it’ doesn’t seem plausible to me,

Julen was lied to. Coady was treated like ****. I wonder what went on… Joao just though ‘*******s to the fans’

Nah.

**** me, having sat and seen his corners for the past 5 years I can safely say he's got the tactical awareness of a newt.

Depressing if you're looking to appoint him

I'm not saying Moutinho is or isn't the answer but I feel strongly that a foreign manager is what will be needed if JL goes.

If we're going to gamble (and actually I'm quite up for it vs O'neill ) better to go for at least some experience like a Will Still or Bo Svensson...unlikely the latter would take us mind
