Win their respective cup competitions where does that fall - as 5 would go into Champions League - Leicester into Europa I’m guessing would that knock 7th out of Europa too?

Just a thought as quite likely Leicester could win that

They’ve got a tough run to the final with PSV and then maybe Roma. So can not see it.

West ham fancy them to beat Lyon but get done over by Barca with adama banging another goal

Now that it's impossible for Man Utd to win the Champions League, whatever West Ham and Leicester do is irrelevant to what competitions teams qualify for. Only Chelsea having a total collapse and not making at least 4th and then winning the Champions League would cause any change.

1st-4th will be in the Champions League next season

West Ham will also be in the Champions League even if they finish outside the top 4, yet win the Europa League

5th will be in the Europa League next season

The FA Cup winner will also be in the Europa League next season, unless the FA Cup winner has already qualified for the Champions League or Europa League through a different competition; in that case 6th place will be in the Europa League next season

Leicester will also be in the Europa League even if they finish outside the CL/EL places, yet win the Conference League

6th place will be in the Conference League unless the FA Cup winner has already qualified for the Champions League or Europa League through a different competition; in that case 6th place will get a Europa League spot instead and 7th place will be in the Conference League next season

Finishing 8th or lower will not get you any form of European football. Finishing 6th or higher will guarantee some form of European football.

7th place is either Conference League depending on the FA Cup outcome or nothing at all.

None of the teams that end up in Europe will need to play any qualifiers to reach the respective group stage, with the sole exception of the team that ends up with the Conference League place. That team will have to play one round of qualifiers in mid August (with a home & away leg).

Excellent post which clarifies the whole situation - at least to me. Thank you.
Bottom line, we have to get 7th or above for European football.

6th really or above! Huge night tonight we could and should win especially given an international break after and we are despite what anyone thinks are a good team.

Toughest games of course City and Liverpool, feel like we need the title to be over by the final game and try and draw against City

How do we feel about the Conference League, as if we get anything it looks like it may be that ? I wonder what Neves's views on the Conference League would be?

Any European football is good European football. End of. IMHO. Neves may disagree unfortunately, and he is good enough for a CL team, but time will tell.
