The club revealed on 10 August that an exclusivity period granted to a group of would-be investors had ended without a deal, with reports suggesting that the unnamed group's interest had ended. But, writing in his programme notes ahead of Saturday's match against Wolves, Bates said talks are ongoing.</p><p>"Suffice to say that the exclusivity period has now lapsed, but we are continuing talks with the same people." Bates added that abuse from fans aimed at him over the delays was not helping: "We have to get it right and public comment and chants doesn't help.
