Just for a bit of fun, what are peoples predictions for how the top 6 of the Championship will look at the end of the season? My heart and head probably say two different things but here goes:

1. Blackburn Rovers
2. Birmingham City
-------------------------
3. Leicester City
4. Wolverhampton Wanderers
5. Bolton Wanderers
6. Middlesbrough

And for those who care, may as well do one for the Premier League top 4!

1. Chelsea
2. Man City
3. Man United
4. Arsenal

Championship

1.Bolton
2.Leicester
--------------------
3.B'burn
4.Us
5.Cardiff
6.B'pool

After doing this you realise how unpredictable this league is, and if it wasn't us with our squad I'd have probably had it to win the league. But we never do anything the easy way do we!

PL

1.City
2.Chelsea
3.Utd
4.Arsenal

Only care about Wolves and we'll finish 12th.

1. Bolton - 84
2. Wolves - 77
------------------
3. Cardiff - 76 (They bottle it with 3 games to go like every season!)
4. Middlesbrough - 73
5. Hull - 70
6. Blackburn - 68 - Post Kean

11. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Something like that, maybe Blues instead of Hull but i think most predictions will be very similar.

I was going to go for 11th, but with unless Stale pulls some irons out of the fire and brings in 3 or 4 before the end of the window I think 17th

If we can keep out of the relegation zone anything else will be a bonus.

17th? Really?

Most teams would swap their squad for our even without Fletcher and Jarvis.

We need abit of creativity in the MF and possibly a defender but don't forget the squad rule in the PL and that we can sign players on loan. There hasn't been alot of movement and many PL squads look quite bloated, so there will be a few decent players up for loan.

A poor start and you know that Molineux is going to be an evil place to play, chants of 'where's the money gone?' will be heard ringing round by September. We've got a squad low on confidence and morale trying to play a new style of play pretty alien to them where losing has become an all too familiar habit.

A poor start will be difficult to recover from and if Stale utilises the foreign market his players will need time to bed in and our supporters will be short on patience, his only guide to the Championship is TC so I hope he's a quick learner.

Hah - here's Sky sports' season guide. Scroll down and pay attention to font size...

I can't believe you all have blackburn to finish so high...STEVE KEAN!!!

He could take Barcelona down.

We'll be up there, but a top 2 berth is pretty darn unlikely unless we can start at a canter ala 08/09

I fancy Boro to be up there and Bolton should win the league

I don't think we'll get relegated. However I think that is as good as it gets!

Happy with mid-table and some progress in how we tactically play.

Really can't see us challenging this year, way too much has happened/is happening.

What's so exciting about the Championship is that we could realistically finish anywhere from 1st to 18th.

Whereas, in the Premier League, we could realistically finish between 15th and 20th.

Predicted Table:

1. Bolton
2. Middlesborough
3. Hull
4. Wolves
5. Blackburn
6. Leicester

The doom mongering in this thread is at a new high (or should that be low).

The bookies have us to finish 2nd or 3rd, and you lot think we'll finish mid table or even worse, a relegation battle?

You're either a bunch of Albion fans or incredibly pessimistic. I know we've had a $$$$ year at Wolves but bloody hell, we ay THAT bad.

Why so pessimistic? We will finish fourth. These people who would be happy with mid table I think need to pay a visit to the drunk thread.

1st Bolton (sadly)
2nd Charlton
3rd Leicester
4th Hull
5th Derby
6th Wolves (after a poor start)
Doing this makes you realise there's not much in it though.

I'd also predict Huddersfield, Peterborough & Bristol city to go down.

Premier leagues a bit dull but
City
Utd
Arsenal
Chelsea
For a change.

Hull City are definite darkhorses for promotion for me. Decent record last year adding to that Steve Bruce which has been built on with a few excellent signings like Ben Amos, Sone Aluko (Who i personally rate massively, we should have signed him), Liam Rosenior, Matty Fryatt, Robert Koren and the rest.

This league is $$$$ing dog$$$$. Unless all our players leave (oh, wait a minute!) i would be extremely dissapointed in anyone other than Bolton finish above us.

I think some of you are being ridiculous. I don't think we'll dick the league, but anything less than a playoff spot should be viewed as failure.

The problem is we got dicked pretty much week in, week out last season and that was with the so called good players, given that they will be gone do you really think the side is good enough to come back up?

No chance for me, we'll take a good while to adapt to the chumpionship and to the football SS wants us to play. If we'd have kept Mick we'd have been challenging but we have chose a complete new approach at the club and anyone thinking it will bring immediate results better be prepared for disappointment.

NNW and Moira are the 2 posters most likely to spend their life under a black cloud, (or their head in the toilet)
We will finish between 2 and 5

Between 4th and 8th but nearer the latter i feel
Season two will be a real force if Staale is given the chance by the fans to get it right...
Miracles dont just happen in a short space of time!!!

I am surprised that so many people think that Bolton will win it, because I don't think they will.

After a tricky start with all the goings on at the minute Id be happy with a late surge of form into the play offs similar to 2003

Just to add the key is PATIENCE! If it takes SS until next season to get it right, so be it!
