While listening to Oxford vs Swansea on 5 Live as I ate my lunch this afternoon, I was treated to the expert opinions of Dean Saunders. Once again, he showed his complete lack of expertise with idiotic comment after idiotic comment.

Everyone knows that Saunders is a train wreck of a manager and yet he is employed to give opinions and analysis on the game as if he knew what he were talking about.

My question to you is: "How do broadcasters pick their 'experts'?"

Normally based on any possible relationship with the teams playing. Being Welsh and an ex-Oxford player, he was the simple choice.

In all ways...

:D

Made me chuckle.

But in response to the OP, amazes me how someone so poor can keep getting work irrespective of any connection.

There are very few expert summarisers - just look at Sky. They wheel out recently retired stars like Henry, Yorke, Redknapp and Lampard simply because the target demographic recognises them.

They're bloody awful.
