It's mad that that season was only 5 years ago,yet seems like a lifetime ago,some proper naff football that season,5 nil nils in a row at home,throwing away a 2 goal lead at home to bottom club Bolton,plus wasting 3 million on Joe Mason,still a minor miracle we managed to stay up.

if nuno had coached that side it would have done OK. He is better than Kenny. If Lambert had coached that side it would have gone down.

Yes, Afobe upfront and Wallace in the 4231. Price and Kmac sitting on our defenders toes most the afternoon despite Preston having a player sent off after 15 minutes.
Horrible performance in a horrible season.
Good day out though, always like a trip to Preston.

I love the wolves of today don't get me wrong, but there is something special about the team that had Ikeme, Afobe, and Sako, that I'll never miss. I still remember when we signed Sako for example it seemed like a huge signing at the time! I mean 3.8 million pounds! Wow! I didn't think I'd see us signing Nelson Semedo from Barcelona (A team not B team) for £30 million pounds, ever not let alone seven years later.

Well we know what Dave Jones would have done. Wasted it on one season wonders. We got promotion in spite of Jones not because of him.

Mick is a different kettle of fish. Whilst he will be judged by O'Hara and Johnson, and to a degree, Mouyokolo, the problem was by only recruiting two arrogant ******s it upset the dynamics of the dressing room. Had he brought in 5 or 6 we may have actually done better.

Either way, neither would have got near the lofty echelons we've hit now, even after chasing horrible whitey pinky shadows for 94 minutes.
