Hi all , on the 15th August 2015 myself and 4 others will be attempting the national 3 peaks challenge in the hope we can raise funds for a very close family friends son Daniel ...

Daniels story

Daniels start in life was a little less ordinary than your average birth; he entered this world at 28 weeks gestation weighing in at 2lb 4ozs, during the first twelve months of his life Daniels heart stopped 3 times which required resuscitation to be carried out. At 18 months Daniel was diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia which falls under the category of cerebral palsy and results in spastic diplegia, primarily affecting Daniels legs. The initial prognosis for Daniel came as a huge blow; we were told he would likely have severe learning difficulties, possibly have speech problems and would never walk.
Daniel is now 5 years old and through his sheer determination is proving everyone wrong he is a happy, fun loving, cheeky chap who lights up the room with his smile and who talks for England (in fact he doesn’t stop to take a breath ). Daniel attends mainstream school and is currently achieving all academic targets that he has been set. In order to help with Daniels wish to walk he has recently undergone a procedure called a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy at Queen’s Medical Centre Nottingham, this operation helps to relieve the spasticity in Daniels legs however this is only the start of a long and arduous regime of physiotherapy and strength building in order to ensure Daniel can become an independent walker. Unfortunately resources and equipment available on the NHS are very limited therefore we need to raise funds to purchase specialist equipment and intensive physiotherapy sessions to allow Daniel to achieve his full potential.
A word from Daniel
Hi my name is Daniel and it is my dream to be able to run around with my big sister and friends at school and play football with the other boys in my class. My mom and dad have told me that with lots of hard work this might be possible so have promised to buy me a football net for my birthday this year so I can practice.

Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children ...
If any mixers can help in anyway even by just sharing the link I will copy below for our challenge we would be truly grateful , many thanks lee ....
