Arsenal are one of the world’s biggest clubs and have been locked in an incredible Premier League title race this season.

The Gunners have enjoyed a remarkable 2022/23 campaign, losing just four times and competing with Manchester City at the top of the table.

Arsenal have enjoyed an excellent campaign

However, with time running out and with City back on top, the question is, what do the Gunners need to finally win the Premier League again this season?

What do Arsenal need to win the title this season?

The Gunners have far exceeded expectations this season and have mathematically sealed a return to the Champions League.

They are also extremely likely to finish in the top two, while the title remains a possibility.

Pep Guardiola’s side are now top and have a game in hand over Arsenal.

City are the clear favourites to win a third consecutive Premier League trophy but the north Londoners are far from mathematically out of it.

Arsenal have four games left and can end the season on 90 points if they win all their remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile, City have five fixtures remaining and can end the campaign on 94.

Arsenal and Man City's May fixtures

Arsenal

  • Newcastle – A – May 7
  • Brighton – H – May 14
  • Nottingham Forest – A – May 20
  • Wolves – H – May 28

Man City

  • Leeds – H – May 6
  • Everton – A – May 14
  • Chelsea – H – May 21
  • Brighton – H – May 24
  • Brentford – A – May 28

Arsenal have a vastly inferior goal difference, meaning they’ll have to finish with more points than City to win the league.

The Citizens’ game in hand is against Brighton, and if they win that, City would likely be at least four points clear of the Gunners and could win the title, with just one match left.

However, defeat would ensure City could only finish on 91 points, while a draw would also be beneficial for the Gunners.

Arsenal would then need the Citizens to slip up again and win all of their remaining matches.

Of course, the Brighton match wouldn’t matter should City drop five points from their remaining five games and the Gunners win every one of their final league matches.

It will be extremely tough, and they are going to need some help along the way, but the Gunners can still mathematically win the Premier League for the first time since 2004.
