Didn't think tv revenue could be set against ffp.

Pretty sure it all counts on the income and revenue table otherwise no club apart from the commercial behemoths would be able to spend anything.

Some clubs have borrowed against future broadcast money to balance their books in the short term though as villa found out that’s a dangerous gamble

Quite right. When people talk about ‘not counting TV money’, it’s in regard to increased spending and wages above the norm.
Everybody gets the same TV money to an extent, and expect to spend most if not all of it on transfer fees and wages.
That’s why Bournemouth can have a reasonable premier league squad when they’re hardly making a fortune out of their gates or global merchandising.
The reason United can pay such ludicrous wages, because of their mammoth commercial stuff.
The top 6 all get 30+ million more than we do in shirt sponsorship, that’s an extra nearly 600k p/w in the wage budget with all else equal.

Hence the pushing of the brand, stores in China and such.
It might be unpalatable to the traditionalist, but thoroughly necessary to narrow the gap.

So yeah, can definitely spend the TV money, and yes it’s counted in FFP, but it’s pretty much just a baseline.

There was that rumour/report doing the rounds a few weeks ago that we'd tabled multiple bids (£30m+) for a few French based youngsters. Obviously we wouldn't be after all of them, but I wouldn't be surprised if this guy was one.

Still think we'll get a midfielder in before the deadline

A bit like Seyi George Olofinjana?
Yep, been seduced by these style of players before, none of them worked. You’ve got N’Diaye that’s about it but he’d already played in the PL I suppose. For the fee being quoted you’d this guy was the real deal.

Don't we already have one of these?
In our case he's alright on the right. Even as RWB it is claimed.

You know, the type that takes the ball somewhere down field and tries to go through the majority of the opposing team before laying it off or taking a shot.

Ours is expected to come good... eventually.

To be fair, this bouby guy does seem to tackle better than ours.
But is he faster? Hell no. Well at least not according to some reports, who have declared him faster than Usain Bolt (with a ball).

No because his a big streak of **** with like to stride forward with the ball & dominate games, or so we’re led to believe.
He runs more like Mo Camara used to, that was a weird style.

That's the thing to consider about the situation of a ball-carrying box-to-box player over an AM player who works it with quick feet, speed and craft.

The former is suited to a countering situation mainly, so what happens when teams sit off with men behind the ball? Charging through doesn't work often....you need to pick the lock skilfully.

I hope you weren't taking me seriously, well, too seriously.
