Dawson has been instrumental in keeping us up what a signing he has been. Guedes is only loaned out so although he was fairly useless he may still be here next season, hope he isn't to be honest.

Guedes the worst this season for sure. Not even at the club already. That said, Kalajdzic as an immediate impact was a disaster as well.

Lemina ahead of Dawson for me, the changing of midfield changed our season more than the change at the back I think.

101 Mixers have said 'keep Moutinho as a coach.' I've never really been in favour of that, but for some reason I can absolutely see Dawson on the coaching staff

Pointless asking about worst as Guedes is in a different stratosphere- anyone who chooses anyone else is a moron. Best for me is Dawson, without him I think we’d all still have squeaky bums.

Hopefully he's going to be playing next season he's only 33.

Dawson has brought not only defensive assurity but experience and leadership. He’s the Sort of player we need in the core of the team to build a side in front of.

Guedes might be the worst signing of the Premier league era let alone just this season.

I had high hopes for Nunes which wained quickly with his poor performances and insistence on driving off at end of games rather than signing a few autographs for the kids like most of the other guys will do…

From hereon the Annual Worst Signing Award should be known as the Guedes.

Looked and played like a contest winner.

Guedes was that bad, he made me long for the days when we had a half-interested Trincao hiding and shirking tackles instead! He made Jesus Vallejo look like a confident, reliable defender. Made Cutrone look like a lethal finisher. What's Roderick Miranda up to these days? Would rather have him back than Guedes, any day of the week.

Best: Dawson - genuinely think he's kept us up.

Worst: Guedes - never looked like he wanted to be here. Total waste of money.
Guedes is a prime example of why we'll be moving away from the Mendes network. Nice to tap into every now and then but only for the right player. We've been stung way too much recently.

Imagine signing a player for a crucial, specialist position you intend to build your entire strategy around, but he has a history of injuries, and after allegedly overlooking any red flags in the medical, he lasts just over half an hour before doing his ACL in a standing jump, ruling him out for the season. Now imagine that player is still only your second worst signing of the season. Hello, Gonzalo Guedes.

Best is Dawson, but how brilliant has that January window proved to be (Sarabia aside)? Dawson, Lemina, Cunha, Gomes - four players who will absolutely be here and in the first team next season, who have contributed so much to our uplift. Gomes is going to be adored like an angel's pitbull fallen to earth and will be the lynchpin of next year's plans, and Cunha is starting to show a number of the elements that made Jota such a fan favourite. It bodes so well that all the transfer positives came under Lopetegui's eye.

I was very open minded about Guedes think he has bags of ability so shame he wasn't interested

That January window was fantastic though. Dawson 1st for not just his defensive performances but his effect on Kilman too. Vital.

I don't think there are any other choices, maybe Nunes for worst due to the size of fee and so little impact but I'd go Guedes too, sick of us signing players who don't want to be here.

Dawson is the obvious choice, come in and done a great job after we left ourselves with 2 inexperienced players at the heart of the defence with no proper competition for places, who thought that was a good idea?

JL gave Guedes a few chances and then got rid, brilliant management.

Showed people there was a clean slate, would give you a chance, but if you can’t do it, or more likely don’t wanna do it, weren’t showing in matches and probably not in training here’s the door. He didn’t care how much he cost he was gone.

Consciously or subconsciously would have shown the squad who the boss was.

Shame about Guedes really. He will go down as worst signing of the season, but on the rare occasion he stepped up, he showed his quality on the ball and great pace.

Some players need time to find their feet in the premier league. I feel Guedes needed to be at a team like Arsenal, or maybe even Brighton given how they’ve played this year, to get the best out of him and help him settle.

You could see Guedes had ability but he either didn’t settle here or didn’t try to. An important lesson to learn. Give me a team of Toti Gomes, Joao Gomes or Lemina who’d walk over broken glass to sign for us.

Nunes close to the worst apparently on here , but in our first team in all our wins at home

Work that one out
Maybe most underwhelming signing is Nunes. When we signed him I was getting told by fans of other teams we’d signed an absolute diamond, he would be our best player, etc. He’s not lived up to the hype really.

We thought we were signing one of “the best midfielders in the world”. For a club record fee (I think?) he has been a massive let down.
