I just stumbled across this, had me in tears. Now my 2nd favourite football related video (Nuno in the box at Britsol still no1).

Some footballers come across as nice steady people and are quiet, but some are just normal lads like we are/were they have their flaws (like a drink, hairdressers, grannies, whatever) and we love to hate them. But they can do things like this:

Cretins like Zouma deserve horrible receptions from fans.

Thank you Sir Jack

A load of old nonsense from Lady Muck in The Scum
They must have run out of white wash following that load of tripe.
I just don't believe that you can transition from being the kind of person capable of such cruelty, to being "fully aware of your actions" in a few hours. You simply have to work hard and reflect at length before you can be deemed worthy of acceptance.
I do believe that people can earn forgiveness, but the clue is in the word "earn". You have to work at it.

I'm not a big fan of Greasie but respect to him for making that poor kid's day.

Let's hope he gets a bad reception at Leicester.
If he plays, I'm certain he will.
Make it happen LCFC fans, the rest of us are right beside you! There are certain things that have no club colours, I personally would include the condemnation of animal cruelty!

Anyone seen Antonio's response when asked about it? Absolute ***** trying deflect from animal abuse.
Complete bell end... In his self absorbed world, everything that happens to him or anyone else who isn't white is because somebody somewhere is racist... I wonder if he'd have said that if it was a white player? It would have been equally irrelevant.

I'm normally in agreement with Martin Samuels but this article on Zouma has far too much whataboutism for me...

Daily Mail: MARTIN SAMUEL: Forget what Adidas or Marine Le Pen think… Kurt Zouma's reputation is lost.

A white teacher was recently filmed hitting a horse and she was sacked for it. This issue has nothing to do with race and everything to do with Zouma being utter scum.

I'm ok with it, but I think he hits the nail on the head when he points out that Zouma will, in essence, be forever remembered as the footballer who kicked a cat rather than the footballer who kicked a ball.

No.
He’s saying there are worse crimes.
He’s probably banned from saying the word “Greenwood” by his club, you cannot have the same punishment for kicking as cat as Greenwood should have for the catalog of abuse he’s inflicted on a young girl.

I understand that point of view, and I have been thinking about it to be honest.

To me though, the other crimes that might be compared should be given more attention, not this one less.

It’s odd to compare the two things in my opinion and they should be considered in isolation.

Just came across as misusing a serious issue in racism to distract from the horrible actions of his team mate to me.

Whether you agree with it or like it, footballers are held up as role models within society. And they’re paid handsomely for it. And with that comes responsibility. Whatever it is that a footballer has done, if it’s wrong it should be called out and punished.

What about Saint Gerrard beating up a DJ for not playing a song?

Sacked and banned forever too? Or not as bad?

Linked here for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

It’s utter bs. It’s a similar line that’s being trotted out repeatedly on Twitter by those defending Zouma. A classic case of seeking to divide those criticising Zouma’s abhorrent actions. Similar to those also saying how can meat eaters complain about Zouma knowing what happens to the animals they’re eating. What Zouma did was to inflict pain and terror on a defenceless animal for entertainment and pleasure. Inhuman behaviour.

I‘m absolutely flabbergasted that West Ham have handled this PR nightmare so unprofessionally.
There are agencies who are trained to guide companies, celebrities, organizations etc in matters like these.
Call them.

At the very least, don’t come out and say you’ll play the guy…..that’s stupid. Instead, you keep him out of the limelight for some time, get him some counselling that the SPCA approves of and slowly let the heat come off the guy and the club.

Oh dear, Antonio. What a ********. Zero relevance to your argument whatsoever at a time when the game has come together to try and reduce discrimination with an overwhelming % supporting.

And if Zouma lost his livelihood today? I’d be devastated for him. He’d probably only have a few million quid stashed away.

Kick more animals, Kurt. You can get away with it because worse things have happened at sea. Go stab a couple of people too; spit at Grannies; slash some car tyres and **** over a homeless person.

Worse things have happened, right?

I reckon it will hit home to him and the porn barons at Leicester tomorrow. It’s a bit different playing him in a home game but tomorrow he’s gonna get some right Sheite.

As my young lad would say…they’re braindeaders dad
Indeed. I know it’s banter, and probably few of those fans would repeat his acts, but it’s still in poor taste. I doubt many Utd fans would sing a song about Greenwood while kicking a blow up doll around.

He shouldnt lose his career over this, but at the same time, i think he should be stood down for a decent period of time and its not helpful with the attitudes of West Ham and the likes of Antonio. Playing the racism card is predictable and pretty pathetic imo. A white person would never get away with saying something like Antonio did.
