Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are getting ready to contest one of the most important north London derbies in years.

On Sunday, Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs will play host to Mikel Arteta’s Gunners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a 2pm Premier League kick-off.

Obviously any north London derby is important, with local bragging rights at stake between two fierce rivals who are in and around the same places in the league.

However, Sunday’s game could prove season-ending for whichever side loses, and considering a draw wouldn’t do much for either team’s hopes for the season, it’s very much winner-takes-all.

Tottenham are still in top-four contention, just about. They’re six points adrift of Aston Villa, but with two games in hand.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are top of the table, but they’re just one point ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

Pep Guardiola’s charges are notorious for finding form at just the right time, as we saw in midweek. Any hopes of them slipping up at Brighton were extinguished within the first 35 minutes.

With such a big game on the cards, it’s not surprising to see pundits and former Tottenham or Arsenal players have their say on who they think will win.

Over the past few days, we’ve heard from the likes of David Seaman, Jamie O’Hara, Emmanuel Petit and Gabriel Agbonlahor to name a few.

Now, Chris Sutton has had his say on who he thinks will triumph in the north London derby this weekend.

Who does Chris Sutton think will win between Tottenham and Arsenal?

The BBC Sport pundit reckons the Gunners have what it takes to bag an “enormous win” from N17, predicting the visitors to run out 2-1 winners.

Sutton wrote on BBC Sport: “Arsenal bounced back superbly from their defeat by Aston Villa with wins over Wolves and Chelsea and I am expecting more of the same here.

“They should win this because of the way they are playing and also because I just don’t think Tottenham have been at their best in their past few games, even the ones they have won.

“It will still be really keenly contested, but the Gunners have a great balance in attack and defence and that might give them the edge.

“If Arsenal do come out on top, it would be an enormous win for them in the title race and keep the heat on Manchester City.

“I have no doubt Mikel Arteta’s side will win their final three games too – Bournemouth (home), Manchester United (away) and Everton (home) – but it will not be enough if City keep winning too.”

We’ve already had two big local derbies in the Premier League this week, and both of them lived up to the hype, with Arsenal hammering Chelsea and Everton shocking Liverpool at Goodison Park.

Hopefully Tottenham v Arsenal will be a case of the best saved for last. Let’s hope it also lives up to expectations.

And with both sides desperate for points as well as bragging rights, it could well be a feisty one.
