On this date 134 years ago, Wolves played their first competitive game at Molineux. They beat Notts County 2 - 0 in front of a crowd of about 4,000.

Hopefully, Wolves will be at Molineux for many years to come

Happy birthday.

42 Years before my entry into this mad world.
Been a fan for over 70 of them but presently truly worried about Wolves.
Let’s try and KTFeh?

Before Molineux became our home ground we had played there
in 1886 in a local cup semi-final v Walsall town.
Have lost the result of the game
We won 2-1 (Brodie, Lowder) in front of 2,500.
Unfortunately, we lost in the next round 1-3 to them down the road :(

We actually played three games there before it became our permanent home.

We played there twice in the 1885/86 season losing to Walsall Swifts 3-1 on 6 March 1886 in the Birmingham FA Cup semi final and then again on 20 March 1886 when we lost 1-0 to Walsall Town in the semi final of the Walsall Senior Cup. We also played there on 17 May 1888 when we beat Wednesbury Old Athletic 4-1 in the final of the final of the Wednesbury Charity Cup.

In each case Molineux was used as a neutral venue with home games in the early rounds of the cups we entered played at Dudley Road.
