2024 has really been Arsenal’s year so far.
The Gunners may be out of the Champions League, but they’ve only lost one league game since the turn of the year and they’re sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League pile.
Mikel Arteta’s side have found another gear this year it would seem, and it may not be a coincidence that Arsenal’s performances have improved just as Kai Havertz’s form has had an uptick too.
Indeed, the German has been electric as of late, and speaking on the Sky Sports Back Pages Podcast, David Ornstein has given some insight into how people behind the scenes feel about Havertz.

Ornstein spoke about Havertz and how he is viewed by people within Arsenal.
“Yeah it’s massive, there was a turning point away at Brentford, and that set him on a better path. It hasn’t been all plain-sailing, but everyone you speak to in and around Arsenal can’t speak more highly of Havertz and the impact he’s had and how he understands Mikel Arteta’s demands and systems,” Ornstein said.
Kai Havertz had an incredibly slow start to life at Arsenal, but it has to be said that he’s getting things right now.
The attacker really appears to be in his groove at the moment, and it sounds as though his good performances on the pitch have stemmed from the right approach behind the scenes.
There’s a lot to say about Havertz, but, by the sounds of it, he’s applying himself properly in training and he’s trying his best to fit what Mikel Arteta wants from him.
Havertz is a unique player who isn’t always the most effective, but, for the first time in a long time, it does feel as though he’s playing under a manager who gets him and has allowed him to flourish.
