Unbelievable result

Not the best performance . Hwang really Dissapointing.

Whole of the back 5 were really good - as was Doyle and Gomes.

subs all did well.

Not sure Dawson gets his place back from bueno
Dawson gets in before Bueno every game imho . Think of all the forwards he's dealt with so far this season .

Great defensive performance.

Huge credit to Santi Bueno, thought he deserved a special mention.

It wasn't a pretty performance and at times we were pinned back too much without offering any threat on the break, but we stood firm and limited them to a few clear chances.

I know people say they just knocked it about but the concentration levels to keep them out must be immense. They're a very good team and there's no easy way to get results against them.

Also, well done the fans. We did a Leeds from Friday night :D Pretty poor atmosphere throughout but the South Bank could see the team were struggling from about 80th minute and I felt as though we made a difference at a critical moment. It also then looked like whole ground got involved.

Buzzing, roll on Coventry. Hopefully get another 8pm Saturday night kick-off like United.

Neto looked like he pulled towards the end, hope he isnt injured.
Just looked back through injury time and there look to be a few issues. Neto definitely pulled up on our last attack when Gomes was galloping into the box, that's why he didn't make a run into the box. Then he chased after the Brighton player to tackle him and definitely pulled up again.

With regards to Gomes, someone said he may have been trying to slow his substitution down, but definitely wasn't pretending he was injured when he was rubbing his hamstring. GON was asking him if he was okay to stay on as he was intending on bringing off someone else, but Doyle, next to him Gomes, signalled that he needed to be taken off, so GON told the fourth official to change the number on the board.

Excellent win - brilliant defensive performance by all including from Santi, fabulous mindset by Joao Gomes once again in chasing ball after ball and great finish by Mario to win it.

It wasn’t pretty, but Saturday and tonight show our character in a way not seen for a while.

Bring on the Quarter-Final and the opportunity in front of us!

Tough game. Brighton excellent on the ball and very well coached. We had better quality of chances.

I think (hope) Neto pulled up because he was on a booking, so if he fouled the Brighton player at the end it would've been a definite second yellow for a tactical foul.

Gary has a great opportunity to take us to an FA Cup semi-final now! Great defensive display against a Brighton side who, while impressive on the eye, offered little in the final third. It was an undoubtedly leggy display. Hopefully Hwang and Gomes aren't too bad.
Good points Jefe. In the latter stages I was watching our defence very closely and the fact is that Brighton were starved of scoring targets. Their forwards were 'smothered' out of contention. simply excellent defending by our lads and congratulations to GON for making it happen!

Fans were superb tonight. Fantastic noise in second half.

Proud of the lads, GON and his staff.

Worried that we may have picked up a few injuries before Newcastle, though.

When was the last time we actually beat Brighton?

Proper warrior job out there today. Love this team's attitude. Love that this manager knows both the pretty and ugly sides of the game...he played for Pulis and Allardyce ffs, he knows what winning a match like this looks like.

That for me was one of the most satisfying, gratifying & gorgeous Wolves performances I've seen in a while. Not pretty, not sexy etc; but talk about getting the job done despite. Grit, determination, perseverance & resilience. Made in Wolverhampton or what. GON truly is one of us.

Not a fortunate win at all, scored first and then shut them out, what was lucky about it?
This!

It's not like the end of Maidstone vs Ipswich or some plucky underdog performance... Sarabia, Neto (etc) could have scored second half and killed it if anything.

It's really not our fault we didn't roll over and have our bellies ticked (again).

1-0 but we were ****. No more so than Hwang! Complete liability today. Back to his old tricks! Defence held firm just about! But who gives a ****! A QF tie at home to Coventry. For us old school Wolves fans, brings back memories of packed terraces, streams of **** and beer running down the stands. Over 50,000 for that match in 1973! Hopefully the same result. What a great opportunity to make another semi. Come on Wolves!

Pretty sure that we beat them 1-0 at their place around Christmas time in 2021.
Saiss, side-foot volley.

They had a shocking injury list, I think.

Should have beaten them when we were cruising at 3-1? before Moutinho gave away a crazy pen with his first involvement, IIRC.

Dawson is the no1 centre back all day long. I think kilman might have to be worried about bueno though

We were not ****. As O'Neill said, the team was tired (one less day to prep that Bton) and the decision was to conceed possession and make the pitch smaller. Yes we could have kept the ball better at times, and made a bit more of our opportunities, but defensively we were incredibly well organsied and disciplined. The togetherness and commitment were magnificent. The crowd tuned into that and dragged the team over the line.

I loved that performance tonight for the sheer grit and determination. We must be a bloody nightmare to play against at the moment

WTF?! He's not someone to wallop the ball up to; he's someone to get on the end of things. "Back to his old tricks" my old derriere. Disrespectful to someone who's been terrific this season, if less so tonight.

Is that the game that ended up 3-3?
Yes, that's the one. We went 3-1 up then they got back to 3-3. Maupay was being a....fine upstanding gentleman as always. Feel like he either got into a fight with one of our players after full time or got sent off after full time, but that may have been any one of our other matches against Maupay! Think this was also the one where Adama terrorised (Traorerised?) big Dan Burn.

Missed the entire game up to the last two minutes of injury time - when their keeper missed a sitter.

Sounded from the commentary that the injuries might be piling up. Gomes pointing to his hamstring and something wrong with Hwang?
Yes, unless he can keep finding the net he's hopeless. That's what's wrong with him. Falls over holding his face (a la Podence), can't control the ball. can't pass, can't hold up the play. If anyone's to be injured I'd prefer it to be him tbh.

The ref pulling up for a foul for us when one of our forwards was through on goal annoying but overall he managed the game well.
Andy Madley was also the ref for that infamous Liverpool cup match last season, where he basically instructed the linesman to flag Toti's goal offside and VAR camera went AWOL. Surprised the South Bank did give him any ****. I haven't forgotten. Never will.
