Yes. Qualifying for Europe can boost your revenues for that season, but teams will have to do it regularly to be able to increase their costs in line with increased revenue, otherwise they'd have to reduce costs again in seasons they didn't make Europe.

Renovating, or building a stadium increases revenue streams permanently. Not just in increased ticket sales either. Imagine if everyone inside Molineux who wanted a drink or a pie could actually buy a drink or a pie?!
I am - imagining!

Have to appreciate the dealings with PSG - £4.4m for Sarabia and now a respectable way of handling the Lemina deal so he can be with his brother while accommodating our financial restrictions. They are the polar opposite of Barcelona.

There was something linked around the time the Ekitike rumours stated that PSG and Wolves enjoy working with each other. Not a bad team to be friends with

Discussions are still ONGOING between PSG and Eintracht Frankfurt for Hugo Ékitiké! - PSG offers a loan with OA of 30 M € .- Frankfurt does not want to put more than 20 M € for French.

If hes a genuine target and then got 5/6 goals and assists he would make us consider the option, we could always send back, even on big wages only 6 months of wages with then if hes settled and happy decisions when it comes to option.

That if he was ever a target, to me looks like broja was number 1 alongside an ings or adams

I’ve heard Ekitike is on close to 400k a week. He isn’t coming here.

They have sold Johnson in this current financial period though? So they may well be ok regarding the rules?? Also for the next 3 year cycle a championship season drops off so that will help them too.
The Championship have their own FFP/ PSR type rules, though. Wolves were investigated a couple of times istr.

Maybe it's just because Forest realise he's their most valuable asset and he might have to be sold in the summer.

That could be the case but it would surely make more sense to wait until the summer before bringing someone in? Especially when they have such a bloated squad already.

Sorry. Just realised that Notts Forest and sense don't go together!

The caveat is coming, I can feel it…

Silva and Sasa were not that good. We only need better, not a top striker at£50 million. I have said a Chris Wood or Che Adams would be good enough . I see players playing for many clubs that would fit the bill . Physical central attacker.
We are 11th in the “ best league in the world”. We don’t have anyone else competing for that central position. . It’s not that hard a sell
Would love him but Chris wood has 8 goals for forest this season. There is no way forest are going to loan him out to a rival. Che Adams is a maybe but is going to be dependent on the size of fee saints want and whether the guy himself

And the idea that there is no competition when we would probably have to drop one of Hwang Neto or Cunha, to get them in is frankly absurd.
We need a centre forward that is quick, hard working, capable of chipping in with a goal or two for less than ten million.

I know Mendes already had a big influence at Forest but honestly think with Nuno going there now aswell they will certainly be Mendes main Premier League club rather than us going forward....

Mendes is building in his future earnings. Park them at Forest for the rest of the season. If they do well and Forest are relegated, move them on to another PL club (maybe us). Double bubble!

So part of Forests defence/mitigation is they want to use the Johnson sale against last years losses but also want to buy players in this years accounting period because they sold Johnson.

Theiy are just taking the micky

They've already been charged, which suggests that Johnson sale did fall into the current period, giving them room for spending this season.

If they successfully appeal/fight that and the Johnson sale can be deemed to count towards the previous period, a precedent will be set and they will then have until the end of the summer window to sell someone and balance this season's spending.

They're not really doing anything wrong other than maybe gambling on spending to stay up, rather than cutting their cloth and preparing for potential relegation.

It's a good point. If there was stuff worth buying, and you could actually get it in the time available, or were enticed to get in before or stay longer, the club could make a fortune.

This is true, but we don’t actually know their situation because they’ve also continued buying players in this period. They’ve spent twice as much as they’ve sold in 23/24, and their extra breathing room from a Champ year dropping off may or may not be sufficient.

They must be totally resigned to their fate this season regarding a points deduction, as why poke the bear otherwise? Wasn't that one of the reason's Everton were hammered because they kept signing players even after being warned about their FFP position?

I really hope that they gamble and lose. The Chump FSP rules will destroy them not least because most of their squad has little or no resale value and are also reported not to have relegation clauses ...

There was an article in the Torygraph about exactly that yesterday.

now they are taking the ****

Nuno - i need to trim squad and get bodies out before new ones..

What a truly ridiculous club they are. I imagine most of football will utterly **** themselves if they get relegated? Going to end up adding another 4 or 5 aren't they? They've got Awoniyi, Wood, Elanga and MGW just off the top of my head. Not sure why they need Ribeiro or Reyna specifically, but they can't help themselves?

Shame we didn't sign Murillo though. Think we were linked before them

guessing obligation if they stay up? or goals?

Nottingham Forest have reached agreement with Sporting Lisbon to sign 18yo forward Rodrigo Ribeiro. Loan + buy option that may become obligation (would be worth above £10m on 5/6yr deal). Set to fly for #NFFC medical

Yeah, but I think Everton's position is a lot worse than Forest's maybe? As in they were always going to fail this season, regardless.

But for Forest, if the common tale of the Johnson sale falling into the last period stopping them being charged is true, then this season they'd be in a position where they were one of the clubs not being charged and no questions would really be asked (other than the old "How are Forest signing all these players within FFP?!).

Their strategy has clearly been to push the boundaries since promotion. A points deduction probably should make them reign it in a bit, but it doesn't appear to be! They will just have to make sure they sell the right players, at the right time in the future!
