The lights are going to be out at Compton on Friday with no one in and us with the weakest premier league side in numbers if this lot in charge arent careful.

His skill is evident for all, he just struggled to get up to the speed and physicality of the league (like many new players coming in). Clear signs at the end of last season and the first 2 games of this season that he has got over that issue and that is probably why Man City have decided to pull the trigger now. They're willing to pay us a nice premium to get him over that first tough year for them.
It's not his skill that I hate. It's the needless turnovers.

Maybe those don't happen on a better side, but it was scary to me with how frequent they were in our own half.

Strange how two of the best managers on the planet-Guardiola and Klopp rate him so highly and yet others here say he is rubbish and we should be grateful even to just get our original money back...... How dare we ask for half the money Brighton got for Caicedo ?

So Pep rates him as about half as good as Haaland?

Yes I forgot we lose 10% of any profit to Sporting and then there is Mendes's juicy cut....the add ons may amount to £10m? Anything can happen with them. Even a net £15m profit looks highly optimistic .....

Inflation has been around 10% since we bought him, too.

I think Pep is signing him to fill the KDB role, that tells us everything

If Pep is signing nunes to replicate KDB it would tell me he has lost his ****ing mind. And no sane wolves fan that watched an average Nunes labour around the pitch last season whilst doing very little could think differently. Look back through the match reports on here and comments on his performances. No one….And I mean no one, was saying/thinking this guy was being sold for 60m euro/quid/yen/whatever as a replacement for KDB this season.

For this price we are pulling Man City’s pants down IMO.

Time will tell. But that’s my opinion.

Yet here we are, and that's exactly what's happening. So either you're missing something, or Pep is making a huge mistake.

Im not saying it’s a mistake. Price is what you pay and value is what you get. I think the speculated price is good business for us as Nunes has done very little here. City have cash and big squad depth already so if it don’t work out it makes little difference to them…and because he was a city player they will get some dross like Everton or west game to buy him for 40m next season.

I agree that we're getting a good price.

But couldn't agree less on the last part. You say something about being amazed people can't see what you see.... but I'm amazed you can't see the promise in him.

I think he'll go from strength to strength for City and when KDB is back, it won't be Matheus he's replacing in the line up, but Bernado Silva.

If he's sold on from City, it will be to Real Madrid or PSG, in my opinion.

I don't think he is, bought to replace Gundogan.

I don't think it's a clever move either way but he is very different to anything they have right now.

Matheus Nunes has stopped training with Wolverhampton Wanderers and informed the club of his wish to join Manchester City.

The Premier League champions want to sign Nunes before the summer transfer market closes on Friday night.

Wolves have rejected an offer worth €55million and are determined to stand firm unless a proposal meets their valuation.

The 25-year-old midfielder will face disciplinary action over his absence and Wolves intend to bring him back into their squad after the window shuts unless a deal can be struck before then.

Nunes joined from Sporting Lisbon last August in a deal worth £42million and is under contract at Molineux until 2027, with an option for a further 12 months.

City are looking to strengthen in midfield after their efforts to secure West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta was derailed by an FA investigation over potential betting breaches.

Pep Guardiola's side have also lost Kevin De Bruyne to a hamstring injury, which required surgery that could see him spend up to four months out.

Tough luck Matheus. If they won’t pay what he’s worth then he stays. Do not pander to a players demands, this club is far bigger than one player.

Promise him he can move in a year with a new bumper contract with a release clause in it for UCL clubs. That’s when we can properly replace him, not with 4 days left in the transfer window.

Caicedo pulled the same stunt at Brighton, club reintegrated him after the window closed. It’s happened with so many players over the years. Man City are bidding a disgracefully poor amount for him (£50m) that doesn’t respect the market for midfielders this summer (Rice and Caicedo £110m) or the fact they just bid £80m for Paqueta.

He’s worth £70 million upfront, pay it or **** off elsewhere Pep.

Looking a this from his point of view. You're getting a chance to join the current best team in Europe, possibly the world this us because let's face it KDB is injured. If he does not go now and has to stay at Wolves will City come back for him when KDB is fit?

If I was in his shoes I would not miss training but I would be doing everything I could to make sure the move happened.

From a supporter of Wolves point of view he is a petulant little turd

There is always lots of sides to stories. We don't know what Nunes has been promised, have Fosun gone back on their word about agreeing to a move if a bid came in from a big club (let's be honest, they have form in going back on their word!). He might be under instructions from his agent, he might be dead against doing it but going along with it because he has been told this is the only way. He might hate GON or despair about the current plight of the club, and it might not actually be true!!

But apart from that, no other sides or dimensions i can think of off the top of my head

Exactly.

For him, got to be a once in a career opportunity.

Matheus Nunes you are an absolute ****ing ****er

**** him off. ****.

If that’s your stance, then we may as well get rid of every single player at the club right now. Every single one of them would do the same if they were a top target for City & had Pep knocking with only 4 days left of the window.

It’s not like he’s kicked up a fuss over some second rate side coming in for him, we’re talking about the best club in world football right now who’ve just won a treble…

Also, Mendes will want this deal done and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s encouraged Nunes to play up as to get it over the line sooner.

He desperately wants to join the best club side in Europe. I don’t really blame him considering our current position as well. Not training for a week isn’t going to force us to sell him, a lot of players do this nowadays, but we hold all the power in this situation. It’s a little petulant, but he’ll get over it.

Completely understand him wanting to go - I would too if I was him. Pathetic to refuse to train though. The rest of us have to go into work and work bloody hard for our money whether we’re happy at work or not.

IF this is true then it’s just another typical egotistical footballer with no appreciation of the real world.

People acting like Nunes should give a hoot about Wolves. Did he not have a release clause in his contract initially?

He came here as a stepping stone, that was what he was sold, now acting all stunned when the big (the biggest in world football on pure talent) club comes in for him, and shock horror, he really wants to go.

Let him leave.

And set a precedent for the rest of our players to throw their toys out the pram for a move?

Oh come on he wants to go to Man City, he never really wanted to be here in the 1st place so you can bet this is completely accurate - why would the reporter make it up anyway.
I'm just saying that there will be more to it, you know a bit of nuance. I'm not saying this part of it is not true. But if you want to just jump on this and hate him regardless, knock yourself out. A fair few seem to have made that decision already

I have no issue with him going or wanting to go, but not like this.

Stand firm wolves and tell city the price take it or leave it.

It’s probably resorted to this as it’s rumoured to be City’s last bid and they’ll move on.
