If Wet Spam got Nunes I'd be fuming. I feel like they wouldn't be bidding if they didn't get the feeling they have a chance at him
Simon Jordan is very scathing of the porno brothers. He says they have form of “ bidding” for players, when in fact no bid has been made.
He reckons they do it to keep the fans happy. A sort or we tried but we failed scenario.

Do you have a source for this or is it ITK? I thought he’d come to us given his relationship with HCH

This just says Forrest made the bid and it was accepted, but nothing on the player side. Seems Forrest are in the business of just copying our moves.

No wonder the club is trying to keep things so close to the chest.

And do far more than just collating rumours as an aggregator. They get fantastic interviews such as the one with the journalist when mosquera signed and the john ruddy one the other night. They are far better than the likes of aftv and united stand who just try and cause a drama everytime they open their mouths.
I really dont know why people get their knickers in a twist over them aggregating wolves news. 9 times out of ten you can see a rumour and know its got no legs on it anyway. I can only think its that negative people like to be down on everything. Must be exhausting hating everything all the time...
Spot on - the team at Talking Wolves are fans who love the club and are really becoming a force in engaging with people who have stories to tell.

You’re thinking of Santiago Munez from Goal. The real reason behind the South American trip.

Nunes? He’s as good as signed. Just waiting for Jeff to give the word.

I thought we’d already established that Nunes doesn’t want to come.
From what Fabrizio Romano said, we were having trouble with personal terms and convincing him to join back in early-mid June, which is fine.

Why would a player who supposedly has top 6 interest jump at the chance to play for us the second the window opens? Like any sensible person, he’ll want to wait it out till later so he can review his options.

it’s August now, and as things stand, Liverpool aren’t interested according to the Athletic, City might be admirers of the player but I highly doubt they go in for him unless they lose one of Bernardo Silva/Gundogan, and who else is left? Only us and more recently West Ham, if you believe the link that has come up this morning.

With the window slowly beginning to get to the closing stages, Nunes could very well review his options and decide to join us in the Premier league, been as none of the big boys have come forward. He might have UCL at Sporting, but the premier league and money definitely is a big draw too - not to mention half his NT are here with us already also

It has not been "established" that Nunes doesn't want to come. It has been speculated.

Still the number one target and still a very real possibility.
Didn’t it come from fabrizio that sporting would accept our bid but nunes wouldn’t accept the move?

Theres no way we will spend another £50 million this window,as much as id like to think we could get Nunes it wont happen
We may spend another £10-15mil but more likely loans to buy for any more incoming
Unless ofc we sell someone
Agree. Only way we bring in nunes now is if either neves goes to manu, or ait nouri to man city. No reason for sporting to want to accept a ltb this summer unless they have already raised enough funds through sales this summer already

1. Owners won't care. Etihad also terrible.

2. Match day revenue less important than TV money, and not at all important for soft power owners trying to gain global acceptance.

3. Name. 1966. Kit colours. Perceived fan culture. You don't have to agree or like it (I don't!) but it's what the mega-rich care about, either to milk for sales globally or to launder their reputation.

I do think West Ham would be an attractive purchase. Large stadium in a well connected redeveloped part of London, club in the PL already and stable, but not yet too big for a silly real valuation. Very similar to Man City before their rich owners bought them, albeit its now harder to buy success like they did.

Downsides - the existing owners would be terrible to negotiate a purchase, and the stadium is not owned by them and not easy to enhance without a lot of hassle with the stadium owner.

This. Exactly what Guedes has done, and some similarities to Neves’ situation.
The standard of move they want isn’t transpiring.
So Guedes joined us, they wanted him out for paying bills, he gets a pay rise and a load of international team mates.

Nunes already plays CL football, but obviously sees himself capable of moving to that small bracket that have a chance of winning it, and pay the ridiculous wages.
Again, if they don’t appear…why not Wolves? Staying at Sporting on a relative pittance, as even mid-table PL clubs can blow Portugal’s top earners out of the water makes sense financially, not like Sporting are going to go that deep in the CL…and if we’re to be a relative stepping stone, what’s the problem? 2 sets of signing on fees and related bonuses as far as he and agent concerned.

Neves has similar aspirations, again they haven’t come knocking, but he’s already got the solid PL wage, and a year or two on his side for prime age big money move.

Can genuinely see Nunes being viable in next few days, and if that’s wholly funded by flogging MGW to Forest then it’s a master stroke.
I love that he’s local, has all the potential in the world, and had a solid campaign last year.
But Guedes has already proved himself at a higher level, so to get ‘the missing piece of the jigsaw’ funded by a player sale that we’ve already upgraded…that’s spectacular business.

Hwang mk2 going to Forest

Interesting. He can't be that good then. Will probably score 20 in the Championship next season and somebody will say we should have signed him. Would be useful in our cup games, I suppose.

Late to the party sorry but - we do not even remotely need Harry Winks. That would be an enormous waste of money which would be better spent elsewhere. He's a slightly quicker-thinking Dendoncker. Does the simple things OK, but doesn't have a single KEY attribute which makes them stand out.

Edit: Not a dig at Donk, would rather have him over Winks.

Forest really are building a squad of very average players aren’t they?

Not sure that "building" really describes it. More "throwing together in a desperate panic". Even 4 months ago, weren't they were assuming yet another season in the Championship? Reminds me of our first promotion under Dave Jones.

These strikers we were linked with the other week all seem to be falling by the way side. Very disappointing as we are in dire need of another no9.

I believe the linked strikers were a collection of our back up options, leaked after we made enquiries. In which case it seems a good sign things have gone quiet there.

Andre Silva or Goncalo Ramos as first choice striker (don't know which is favoured) L2B. And Nunes remains first choice CM. So I'm lead to believe.

At least Donk can defend and his height is useful. Winks has none of that...
