Would be a great signing and perfect for us. Big, strong, quick and good with the ball at his feet. I'm pretty sure he was captaining Stoke in his late teens too.

Unsurprisingly McCarthy was trying to take him to Ipswich before getting the sack and the deal collapsed and Collins chose Stoke instead.
How different life could have been for Ipswich, you could probably buy their entire club for the £20 million he's now being priced at.

Good fee for a British central defender, the right age and profile.

Hopefully this one goes through.

The Burnley lot do think he has a release clause in his contract in case of relegation. Claim was him and Cornet wouldn't have signed with out it - given they are always favourites for the drop.

I hope this gets done. He has only played 19 games in the prem so we need to not get carried away - he is not prime Dean Richards or anything - but I will be delighted once its done.

I think that it's the fact that Percy's reported the interest that's got people's hopes up as so many consider him as good as it gets in terms of accuracy.
I’m pretty sure he’s got a soft spot for us too. Wouldn’t be reporting it if it wasn’t there or there abouts.

To be honest, watching his highlights reel, he tends to celebrate goals with a flying knee-slide so fingers crossed, eh?
One of the first things I would ban as a manager. I cringe every time a player does it knowing how knackered my knees are after playing years of footy and cricket. At least a week's wages... and mark my words, one day a player will seriously injure himself doing it.

Nixon doesn't seem to think it's anywhere near as far along as Percy.

I know he's not as reliable on the whole but has been good with Burnley this summer and first to really report our interest in Collins.

He's irish.
He is pretty quick.
Can play in a back 4 for sure and has experience doing so but has played very well right of a CB 3 too. Great at ball carrying , excellent in the air and has recovery pace.
Sounds like a right sided Max Kilman!
Fingers crossed boys.

Apart from Boly, when have we spent decent money on a actual centre half?

Sassis was a MF
Coady was a MF
Bennett - Free
Miranda - 1 Million ish
Jesus - Loan
Kilman - Few hundred thousand
Batth - Academy
Steaman - Returned on lean
Dom Iorfa - Academy
Hause - Few hundred thousand

Was going to say Roger Johnson

Been an area that needs investment, as does other areas,

You’re right. Before Boly it was RJ himself.
