West Ham United are on the lookout for a new manager, and Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on one of their targets.

David Moyes looks like he will be on his way out this summer.

The Scot will be out of contract in July, and as things stand, West Ham seem to be in favour of looking at other options to take charge of the club.

The Irons have been linked with plenty of names recently.

The likes of Ruben Amorim, Marco Silva and Gary O’Neil are all excellent options, but no decision has been made yet on who will be brought in this summer.

Romano has now delivered his verdict on one manager who has been linked with Moyes’ job at West Ham.

Fabrizio Romano shares update on Ruben Amorim amid West Ham links

Everyone was expecting Ruben Amorim to be on his way to Liverpool, but West Ham United did something that shocked everyone this week.

The ‘brilliant‘ 39-year-old manager flew to the United Kingdom a few days ago – not to seal a deal with the Merseyside giants but to hold talks with West Ham.

The Irons are said to be admirers of Amorim, and it was claimed at the time that they would like to appoint him as the new manager after David Moyes’ contract expires this summer.

Those rumours, however, have gone quiet over the last 24 hours.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest on the situation involving Amorim, West Ham United and also Liverpool, who were heavily linked with him.

The journalist claimed that Liverpool are ‘unlikely’ to appoint him as their new manager before ruling out the possibility of West Ham getting him too.

Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing: “Amorim was in London this week with his agent for a meeting with West Ham.

“Despite these conversations, my understanding for now is that Amorim to West Ham will not happen – there is no agreement and it looks really unlikely.

“Amorim is keeping all his options open, so he remains one to watch with other jobs because he’s still available and open to possibilities, even though Sporting obviously hope to keep him at the club.”

Six other managers have been linked with the West Ham job

Before Fabrizio Romano’s update, TBR Football was told that West Ham never offered the job to Ruben Amorim despite holding talks with him this week.

David Sullivan is still yet to make a firm decision on who should replace David Moyes if he leaves.

TBR has since been told that West Ham sporting director Tim Steidten would love to appoint Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel as the next Hammers boss.

Other names linked with the West Ham job are former Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui, Fulham’s Marco Silva, Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, Lille’s Paulo Fonseca and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot.

They are all admired by the West Ham hierarchy.
