Arsenal fans were treated to some amazing news last night, and Newcastle United star Sven Botman seems to be delighted too.

The Gunners are in a very good place now, aren’t they?

It was all doom and gloom among the fan base after Arsenal suffered back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

It was a terrible week for the Gunners, but they bounced back at the weekend with a win over Wolves and are now back on top of the table.

Now, there’s some more good news coming Arsenal’s way.

Sven Botman reacts after what Jurrien Timber did last night

Arsenal have missed Jurrien Timber this season, haven’t they?

The Gunners signed the Dutch international from Ajax last summer, and he was expected to be the man to give Mikel Arteta multiple options.

Timber is capable of playing in both full-back positions, in the heart of the defence and also in midfield.

Not many players in the world can do that, but sadly, Timber suffered a serious knee injury that has kept him out of first-team football until this day.

However, the 22-year-old made his long-awaited comeback by starting for the U21s against Blackburn Rovers yesterday, and he made an instant impact.

Timber, who started at left-back, scored a tremendous goal after just nine minutes, and Arsenal fans were left in awe of his performance.

The defender and Arsenal posted a few pictures of his return on Instagram after the game last night, and unsurprisingly, Timber received a lot of love.

Newcastle United star Sven Botman was really happy to see his compatriot back in action too.

“What we want to see,” he wrote in the comments below the post.

Mikel Arteta responds when asked if Timber will play vs Tottenham

Arsenal have a massive week of football coming up.

The Gunners take on Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium tonight before heading across the road to face Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

These two games could define Arsenal’s season, and Timber’s potential return is a huge boost for the Gunners, even though it’s unclear if he is ready for first-team football.

In his press conference yesterday, before Timber played for the U21s, Mikel Arteta was asked if the Dutchman would be able to make the squad for the game at Tottenham this weekend.

Arteta replied: “That’s a quick step. Let’s see how he feels today. He’s been training really good. He looks ready.

“He needs that exposure and after that, we’ll assess whether that game comes at the right time or too fast. We’ll try to get him with us for the final games.”
