The midfielder only arrived in West London from Sporting Lisbon for £20m last summer.
The 27-year-old was close to joining Wolves before Fulham nabbed him at the last minute.
Palhinha has been a mainstay in the Fulham midfield in his debut Premier League campaign.
He has amassed a total of four goals in 34 appearances this season and been a huge factor in the club rising up the table to ninth.
We reported previously how United have been monitoring the Portugal international’s situation.
Now Football Insider have backed up Sun Sport’s exclusive as they also claimed that Erik ten Hag’s side face a battle for the ace’s signature.
They claim that a source has informed them that Tottenham are also readying a swoop.
Chelsea are also believed to be keen – but United have one big advantage over the two London clubs.

All three will be able to offer him a significant wage rise from his current £50,000-a-week package at Craven Cottage.
