La Liga captain Antonio Raillo was ‘outraged’ after missing out on a move to Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window four years ago.
That is according to the Mallorca Daily Bulletin; Raillo bouncing back from that disappointment to become one of the first names on the team sheet for a Los Pirates side who are all-but certain to avoid walking the La Liga plank, reaching the magical 4-0-point barrier with a Kang-In Lee-inspired 3-1 triumph over Getafe last weekend.
31-year-old Raillo scored one and set up another against the Catalan outfit; a true captain’s performance from the long-serving centre-half.

Raillo has been one of Mallorca’s most impressive performers this term, alongside the aforementioned Lee and talismanic targetman Vedat Muriqi.
And, according to reports coming out of Mallorca, Raillo will been rewarded for his fine form with a new, two-year deal. One that will keep him at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix until the summer of 2026.
Raillo has come on leaps and bounds since seeing a dream move to English football collapse back in January 2019. The veteran defender was reportedly ‘about to join’ Nottingham Forest. He stayed after reportedly being promised a contract extension which ‘never happened’ by former club CEO Maheta Molango.
Something which reportedly left Raillo ‘outraged’. Understandably so, to be honest.
“(A move to Nottingham Forest) was a very good opportunity,” the Spaniard said at the time.
“But I left with a smile (at the end of the window). No one will be able to say that I threw in the towel and didn’t give everything for the club.”
Mallorca have, at least, got back on Raillo’s good side since then. These latest talks over another new deal should progress rather smoother now than during Malongo’s time in charge.
