Alarm bells have begun ringing at Arsenal after a difficult week on the pitch for the Gunners.

This time last week, the Gunners were still top of the Premier League table and dreaming of reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

However, a shock home loss to Aston Villa and defeat at Bayern Munich have seen Arsenal exit the Champions League and concede top spot to Manchester City.

That said, the Gunners are still just two points off the summit, and will return to the top if they win at Wolves on Saturday.

Arsenal actually play twice before the Citizens are next in Premier League action, so they can strike an early psychological blow if they do well.

Man City are in FA Cup action against Chelsea on Saturday and don’t play in the league until Thursday when they head to Brighton. Meanwhile, Arsenal take on the Blues in the league on Tuesday.

With six games to play, there could yet be numerous twists and turns between Arsenal, Man City and fellow title-chasers Liverpool.

Arsenal legend and former City keeper David Seaman has now given his verdict on whether the Gunners can still go on to win the title despite last weekend’s setback.

What has David Seaman said about Arsenal Premier League title hopes?

“Am I confident? Yes, there’s three teams in it and, so long as Arsenal keep their players fit, then we’ve got a great chance,” football.london quotes Seaman as saying.

“Our squad is not as big as Liverpool’s is and City’s is, but if Arsenal can keep everyone fit and ready, we’ve got a great chance.

“We struggled last year through injuries, but now we’re at a different level at Arsenal, we are contenders whereas before we sometimes celebrated getting in the top four.

“But now we’re in contention every season so that shows the improvement in the team.”

Although Man City have a knack of going up the gears as the season goes on and finishing strongly in the league, you can never say never.

As long as there are fixtures coming up, you never know whether there could be slip-ups for them. In the meantime, all Arsenal can do is focus on what’s in their control and try their best.
