Agree......Ruben goes ....we bring in Nunes and palhinha... .traore goes we bring in guedes ......I don't see Gibbs signing a contract.... wouldn't blame him ..but that's the way I see it ..

didn't he sign a new contract before gewin on loan to Sheffield U.?

This is the exact reason I don’t think it will be a surprise if he is here at the close of the window.

What price tag have we publicly slapped on him? 70mil is it? If it’s not met then I don’t think he will be sold.

We could negotiate a new contract with a higher salary and a fair buy-out clause and I think he signs because he honestly does love the club and fans. He wouldn’t want to leave Wolves in the lurch i.e run down his contract to leave for nothing.
Hope you're right CW !

Yes ...but it's still only for 2 seasons. ..current deal expire 2024...

So why sign an extension if he doesn't want to be here.I'm one who thinks he should be given an extended run in the team. But he has to realise he will have other players fighting for a place also.Staying in the first team is not a given.

Dont disagree.....but he has been on the fringes for 3 seasons plus one at Sheffield utd....whether it's right or wrong ,he might feel the grass is greener elsewhere...... especially if Jorge brings another influx in....

He didn't have suitors, last summer when he signed a deal.....if you was advising Gibbs white without our wolves tinted glasses on, what would you advise him to do......

That the problem. The EPL is unremitting. You can't just give someone an extended run in my view.

You can if they play well, that’s the point - he should be starting the season as he would if he was our £25m signing who had just ripped up the championship. If he then doesn’t perform, he’ll be dropped, but if he does perform he can stay in.

It's is about options yes ...but at this minute , Gibbs hasn't done nowt in a wolves shirt, granted he hasn't had the opportunity.....but good or bad podence has done it at a level above, created the most chances in our team last season....I never said , I didn't want Gibbs, just said we have some hard choices in front of us to improve our starting 11......

Said I would sacrifice Gibbs for Guedes , but I would also probably sacrifice podence for Guedes....we haven't got the funds for 2 good players in each position..... somewhere along the line if we don't get big money for Neves then we will have to get funds from somewhere.. nobody can argue that overall podence wasn't our best attacker last season....
When fit, Podence was the guy with that creative spark that none of the others except Neto possess.

These bloody fake ITK accounts on Twitter! Must have blocked about ten today.

But **** it. I’m not being left out of the fun.

Look out for well-known Portuguese soccer journalista (closely linked to Jorge Mendips) and specialising in all things Wolfs…

To be honest I think his time is up now.The advice I would have given him, would be to get his head down and fight for his place. But looking back he didn't want to do that.He must have had words with bruno, because even he told him he couldn't guarantee him a place in the first team, but reluctantly allowed him to go out on loan.Where at least he got his wish of first team football. He's bin here since he was 8 so I think his time has run out.On one of the question and answers from the players,on who they thought was the best up and coming youngster.Ruben,Diogo.And helder costa.mentioned Morgan. That was a few years back.Maybe it went to his head.Who knows. ?

He’s great and I often wonder how fantastic he’d be in the right team.

He must get frustrated playing with strikers who don’t make the runs into and around the box. He always seems to be holding the ball up as he looks for openings.
I’m looking forward to see how he leads the attack next season.

Or he was told no guarantee of playing and you’re behind Hwang, Podence and Trincao. I’d like you to stay and fight for place. If I’m MGW then why not carry on playing knowing that is more beneficial for own development - he (and we in Jan when we were flying) weren’t to know we’d disintegrate the last few weeks of the season.

For me - great talent, will create opps, with 5 subs he is currently a must in our squad. Will he start every game? Probably not. Will he get minutes most games? Yes.

What would I do if I was MGW? Buy myself a nice car and enjoying last few days in Dubai….re football and contract I’d wait and see through pre-season and transfer window and then sign an extension in August/September if clear I’m getting game time.

Personally, I’d still like to see Neto, MGW, Podence and Silva together I can see the movement and fluidity/creativity working well and chances being created. Of course may be upgrades or different style of play (crosses).

Looking forward to the Summer ahead.

Since this would not be normal commercial / corporate practice what evidence do you have for such an assertion? In the absence of any actual inside knowledge I would have thought we must assume Fosun has a hierarchy of decision making the same as other companies of the same size?
That is a very black and white legalistic approach , "what evidence do I have to assert ....."
You could well be right , and what I suggest is strictly non commercial and I am positive there is a underwitten commercial element to the ownership structure.
But business is not black and white.
My opinion is based on the fact almost every owner of a Premier League football club does not treat their clubs as a 100% normal commercial asset.
Also the fact "Mrs Guo" has an interest in Grasshoppers and football , and "Mr Guo" has stated his love of football and the club .
Guo also appears to have a relationship with Mendes. that seems to transcend the purely commercial.
In short I get the strong impression Guo likes football, likes Wolves and sees it as a special asset and has a strong input in it direction.
Not day to day, not month to month but his voice is the strongest.
My opinion may be wrong

I know it’s a forum and we are all entitled to our own opinions but my opinion on your opinion is that your opinion on this occasion stinks. And not even the good kind of stink like from a mature cheese or something.

I disagree his time is up now because he has never actually had a legitimate run in the team.

For a kid of 20/21/22 or whatever he is now who has never actually had a full season of first team football so I oppose the suggestion he did not want to fight for his place and say rather he just wanted to just play football.

You point out Bruno could see his value to the squad and hence the reluctance to let him go out on loan. And now after his season at Sheffield I’d like to now know how you deduce that his time is up. Wouldn’t Bruno be ultimately satisfied with his progress and keep him in his first team plans for this season?

He’s been here from 8 doesn’t really have any bearing on the situation except for the fact that he personally might feel like it’s time for a change. He was hardly an option for first team football from 8 years old until 18.

And finally he’s also probably been above nearly 95% of his age group his whole life and told what a how brilliant and what a great footballer he is. So I don’t think a couple of passing comments from some senior players when there was literally no other answer to be given at the time had any bearing on his perceived arrogance.

Not saying you’re wrong.
I would love to see anything credible where Guo shows he likes football and Wolves. It would reassure me somewhat.

I can’t move on from the fact he should have come back and made himself irreplaceable. To play with great footballers in the best league Not play Championship football . The Premier League is full of much better talent sitting in a bench . Every kid wants to play , a man looks deeper than that . I think it shows a weakness .

Sorry, no, but I will. I just couldn’t remember seeing anything about him saying it.

I’m sure Jeff says Guo is regularly up at 2am or whatever to watch Wolves on the telly.

Up to you if you believe him or not but regardless of whether he ‘likes’ football or Wolves, he clearly takes an interest in his investment

Young players need to be playing and developing. I think his time was well spent last year. But, hey-ho, each to their own.

So just a story? Nothing wrong with that. But it's not a fact, which is the way you originally presented it. We have no idea what these people's motives, feelings, relationships are and any narrative we want to imagine should be understood to be just that, unless there is some evidence to the contrary. Why not accept the simplest explanation of the job description and business hierarchy, rather than trying to make something up about who "really" makes decisions?

A conversation with Guo. Video is about 2 years old .
He briefly discussed Wolves about 5 minutes or so in. But his philosophy regarding business is very interesting.
