    So in the scenario I mentioned, the initial trap and the subsequent pass a second later is done by one continuous contact of the ball, Neto five yards further upfield would be given offside?

    So does that mean that if Jota touched the ball and instead of passing directly back to the offside Neto, he trapped the ball dead and then say a second later passed it to Neto who had now moved 5 yards upfield he would still be given offside?
